At an effective rate of 2.5c per point after bonus points and with the points not counting towards Points Club or any other status qualifications, the only real reason to do this would be if you needed a top up for a specific award redemption - even then I'd be more inclined to buy bonus point cases of wine from QF wines then to just buy points this way.

    • Agreed @trotsky - more helpful for people who need the points now or dont drink wine :)

    • I thought top ups count towards points club? I purchased some last month just to get PC+…

      • I needed just shy of 10K points so bought some wines for $285:

        3 points/$ (Point Club)
        1.25 points/$ (Qantas Amex)
        10K bonus points

So 11.2 K points and I am now a proud Club+ member. Only did this to carry 100 Status points over next year, I am already a Gold member

@Ndiddy - You can cook with wine, I prefer drinking them though.

    5000 + 2500 bonus = 7500 points for $208
    That’s 2.8 cents per point.

    150,000 + 75,000 bonus = 225,000 point for $3,999
    That’s 1.8 cents per point

  • is there a way i can use this to buy an Ipad Cheaper ?

    • A 10.2-inch iPad (9th-generation) Wi-Fi 64GB is currently 78,100 points

  • Does anyone know if this stacks with Qantas points earning credit cards? I'd imagine if you're dropping $4000 you're looking to get up to 10,000 more points (2.5 points per spend at Qantas).

  • Very bad value, no thanks. I will wait for the offer "Get 50% Off When You Top up with Qantas"
