Re: bargain bin comments, the Lumia 800 did come out a while ago (just took ages to get to Australia) and the 900 is their flagship phone. Given discounting on the SII and Nexus S, this price doesn't scream fire sale to me. Definitely a great deal for an excellent handset, though.

    • I'd have to disagree about the Lumia 800 being old. It only came out to Australia in March and since the Lumia 900 won't work here because of the frequencies there's no reason to sell it at Fire Sale price.

Yes - my comment was a bit tounge in cheek. Given all the noise at the time of launch recently I didn't expect to see it being discounted at this point. But I guess that the lifecycle of smartphones these days

with the price of Galaxy Note now only $506, this is not a bargain.

Didn't realise the Galaxy Note ran WP7? - I think a comparison with other phones running WP7 might be more valid - even then the "bargain" is really about comparing it with our options for the same unit. Using your logic you could never have a "bargain" on a Holden Commodore because you'd always throw back that a Hyundai i20 was cheaper. It's not an "apples with apples" comparison.

You're forgetting Android fanboys live in a bubble where anything but Android is stupid.

i just called harvey norman wiley park. They don't have the galaxy note in stock and they don't do any discount on the galaxy nexus. Disappointed.

That is why it is a Hardly Normal Sale.

If you want to "chat" about HN sale's then why not start a seperate thread about it. It's got nothing to do with the Lumia 800 price that this thread is about

Just want them to know they have to do better than that.
