  These are heaps fun but break often. Cheaper to buy 2 and use one for parts. Gets expensive quick buying bits and pieces through aliexpress.

      Hbx 16889/18890; goes by many names… sg1601/1602 for example, but many other rebrands out there…
      I recommend the brushless or even better value is the pro version as it comes with all the upgraded parts & better batteries

      The HBX is a tough little car. Takes an absolute beating… plenty of YouTube videos showing this.

          @Joker042: Just noticed a typo.. That should be 16889 or 16890…

          Basically the 16889 is a monster truck style, while 16890 is the truggy style. Same with the at 1601 vs 1602.

  Could anyone recommend anything in the same vane as HBX16889pro, but bigger? 1/12 or 1/10? Not looking for faster, something that can tackle a mowed acreage block? Ride on mowed, not lawn.

  Have one. Love it. Much stronger than you think. Have been through 50+ charge cycles - racing in parks, carparks (including accidentally driving into concrete columns at close to full speed), big jumps (and crash landings) at skate parks, local dirt rc track and to date have not broken a single thing. Maybe lucky, touch wood. All stock, no mods. Worse thing that happened was the crisscross headlight protectors have popped off in prangs, but just pop them back on again and good to go. It’s one tough mother.

  My family got 3. One has been rock solid. The other two have had a mix of drive shafts breaking and wheel joints falling apart. Drive shafts are a bastard to replace and the rear ones have gone mulitple times.

  Mainly driving on dirt, no major jumps but a fair few head one.

  I still recommend them cos for $90 I got tones of fun out of it. I bought another lol

    I drive mine 95% on tarmac and they are gone after couple dozen uses

      No I haven't. Only used mine on dirt.
