    But $50 more gets you a 3080

    • +1

      Where? 984 for a 3080?

      • +1

They probably did not see the $934.15 discount 15% from AP, where the 3080 would be $1,265.65 at its cheapest with 15% further discount from AP.

        • Yep, the title was updated

        • +1

Cheapest 3080 which I bought today morning was $1172. Then work cashbacked 250 roughly. So the total came out to $922 which was a steal of a deal

          • @TechnoHC: Was this a once off special?

          • @TechnoHC: Nice if yas all show were these 3080 deals can be had? πŸ‘πŸ˜

          • @TechnoHC: I'm calling bs here as the only offer on CS currently with eBay is 4%.

            • @[Deactivated]: CS meaning? wish everyone would help out the newbies here and old facts like me and not abbreviate everything lolz pretty please

              • @Italkdigital: Should have been CB not CS, too early in the morning.
I checked the difference in $ and it lies around 20~21 % which there is no CB offer for atm.

        you're my favourite customer

Oh hi Johhny. I didn't know it was you.

  • πŸ‘Ž

  • Is it worth the difference to jump from 3060Ti to this?

    • +3

If you don't already have a 3060Ti I would say a resounding yes. You will see this as a great 1440P GPU but more importantly this is a better editing GPU due to the higher bandwidth from the GDDR6X VRAM not seen on the lower GPUs.
If you can afford the difference, you will see an advantage.

      https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-RTX-3070-Ti-vs-…

On paper it's stating 26% bump.

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfZ4W3Hg9ok

      The cheapest 3060Ti is 679.15
      The cheapest 3070Ti is 934.15
3070Ti is ~ 37% more for a bump of only 26%, I personally would go the 3070Ti due to how much it has fallen, it would also be a better overall 1440P GPU in the long term.

    • Impressive not a single comment of HODL

  • Thanks tommy! Legend!

I was initially stumped by the AP situation, but ended up buying the giftcards and paid minimal with AP. Final price after CB was around $915.

    • Nps MP, that's a good buy, I think most will be happy with their GPUs regardless what they get, the $ drop is more than welcomed.
The 3070Ti does have the GDDR6X VRAM which gives more bandwidth, whilst not a massive benefit for gaming, you will see a boost in some specific content creation suites.
In the end, buy what you can afford and enjoy it.

      • Do you reckon this deal or the MSI GeForce RTX 3080 VENTUS 3X deal for $250 more is worthwhile?

        • +3

If you can stretch the budget, and don't make this a buyer's remorse post, the 3080 is a much better GPU given the perf boost and extra 2 GB VRAM.
The thing is you can keep climbing that ladder of perfection will end up costing you some sanity in the process.
Sometimes you need to put things into perspective, when does someone say this will be enough and just move on.
I still have my 980Ti, that's 7 years old but my upgrade will be purely for editing, this is why I reco the 3070Ti so much, it has a sweet spot of good gaming but better content creation ability specifically with the GDDR6X VRAM.
The 3080 is also ~ 25% more than a 3070Ti but is only 25% more in perf.
If you don't intend on playing 4K, 1440P is best with a 3070Ti and some content creation.

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: This is my first time building a PC and I can see how people can get trapped in the incremental performance increase for much more $$$. I am only intending to play in 1440p anyway, so the 3080 will probably be overkill anyway. I don't do any content creation.

Thanks man. Wise words. Going to stick with the 3070ti!

            • +1

@Joshuawjlin: You will love the 3070Ti, do yourself a favor, don't look back at what you paid, just enjoy what you have and move on.
Money saved can never replace time, ever. All these people who HODL meme is what is wrong with the world, enjoy the moment you have, rather than dreaming for a future.
The ones that post their dread of, but but but I paid XXXX $s 6 months ago and now this!!! They will never be happy, some early adopters are never happy, some are smart as they know the difference between enjoyment and penny pinching, others are more patient and like a good bargain.
As I said, time vs money, time always wins, it's priceless.

  • The warranty on the OC looks to be 1 year more than the same priced vision.

Also not sure if the vision has the same bios switch for silent mode.

    • The 2 GPUs are identical in specs, I'd say the PCBs are the same too but just cosmetically they differ. I can't find anything about warranty on their website.

      • the AOrus and some of the gaming overclock cards have 4 years warranty when registered within 30 days of purchase..

here is some of the links..

why on earth you would get the white vision card and sacrifice a year of warranty is beyond me..

        • White GPUs matter?

    https://wccftech.com/nvidia-rtx-3080-gpu-prices-fall-of-a-cl…

OK so this story is just pure BS.
    To quote:

    The tweet was:

RTX 3080 GPU in Australia have fallen from $2299 to $1499 AUD overnight - a decline of more than 35%.

This was added but not in the OG tweet.

Combining this with the fact that a lot of retailers are trying to thin their inventory in case a bubble bursts and you have ripe conditions for a massive freefall in global GPU prices.

^^ This is the BS part in bold.

ASUS were 1st to slash prices by 25% then we saw Gigabyte do it and some others, this isn't the retailers but the suppliers. There is no thinning of stock as we can see that many eBayers have been selling ~ 100 of each model regarding the 3070Ti, I have seen 3 do this of the Gigabyte 3070Ti Gaming OC just to name 1 GPU.
As we have seen there are many many other models too, now how is it suddenly retailers are trying to thin stock when then had to get it from the supplier in the 1st place? Also many retailers have had outside of eBay sales which point to in stock @ supplier.
WCCF has gone and twisted this story like there is a massive exodus of GPUs from retailers all because they cannot read a simple tweet properly.
The drop has come from suppliers and retailers have done the right thing by just following suit, when ASUS announced there was a drop of 25%, everyone else has somewhat followed this trend.
Maybe Australia became a dumping ground, who knows? but this was never ever triggered from a thinning out or anything as stupid as what WCCF claims.
I would say there was around 1000 gpus sold in total so far off eBay alone and I am being conservative with my number.
I know 1 retailer has sold 100 of 2 models alone, both 3070Tis so will still around 36 hours left of the sale, I think maybe a few more 100 will be sold. Now what has triggered a massive buy in is the AfterPay sale which there is no mention of in the article.
This is what they are crucially missing and this has cost AP a pretty sum if just alone on the 3070Tis sold, say 1K, $164,850 is what the good people have subsidized eBay through the promotion, that's just on 1 line of GPU as a guestimation.

You have the ever so popular

    3060
    3060Ti

    Then the harder to sell

    3070
    3080
    3080Ti

Then the bat shit crazy $

    3090

WCCF is oblivious to the reasons of why so many have bought a GPu in the last 2 days, and it has nothing to do with what they claim.

I did not hit her I DID NOT!!

    Oh hai Mark!!!

    You want a Redbull?

    • Redbull gives you wings…

  • So if I sign up to Afterpay today it's on a $600 limit. How do I get around that so I can get this price?

    • People have been using gift cards for the balance.

      • So how does this work exactly? You 'use afterpay' to get the coupon and then use X amount of eBay gift cards and then fill in the rest with ap? Would you advise just spending as much as possible through eBay gift cards?

        • People have posted how they have done it, I would not suggest using minimal for AP as 1 guy got his order cancelled.
Use the full $600 and the rest with GC, I don't know how to get them but apparently you get them within 15 mins of purchase, use these for the rest of the order.
You will get the 15% off the whole order, not just the $600 as others have reported.
1 guy got his order cancelled as he used too much with his GC and only $2 on his AP.

        • And this user reported it didn't work, so be careful with gc: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/11895201/redir

not sure if he's the one with the $2 thing.

  • Thank OP, ordered Sunday and seems I got as I got the shipment notification late last night. Advice in the comments was appreciated too.
