  In Melb they are 45c/min +$1 unlock fee
  2 hours of myki costs $4.60, which is = only 8 mins of lime
  plus trams in CBD is free

  I think legally they can only run 20km/h at most, for 8 minutes, that's only 2.67km, which is = a 32 mins walk
  they are so expensive, plus you'll probably need to spend 10 mins to hunt for a charged e-scooter
  not sure who their target customer is.

    see they are a bit costly, but simultaneously they (lime and neuron) are great for when you need to travel a route that trams don’t make, or late at night when services don’t run/are infrequent, plus honestly they’re fun to ride too

      Other than trams, there are buses and trains which cover the whole CBD, for a 2 hours cost of $4.60

      For late night, I don't think it's safe to walk or ride an e-scooter alone in the CBD, Yarra area, particularly for ladies. Would rather take an Uber or taxi.

      The trouble of hunting for an available e-scooter kills. Just a quick Google shows some are spending 10+minutes just to find a charged device. Many just sitting there with flat battery.

      It may be fun to get on a ride once or twice, but that's not a sustainable business model.

        In Prague the Lime scooters all end up in the Vitava River. The Yarra will soon be full of them.

    I can't speak for Melbourne but I can for Tasmania. The council's wanted to get more people from low socioeconomic economic areas where there's less car ownership into the city. Where our only public transport consists of buses and in some areas they're not so regular.

    The other reasons was for tourists getting from point A to B. I've used them before in other cities to travel shorter distances quite quickly.

  Just visited Melb and Brisbane and it's so frustrating to see NSW gov is so slow with legalising escooter. Vote them out!!! (It's one of the many reasons for this incompetent gov)

            @Clear: Come on neggers. Please tell us how Morrison or any PM can prevent NSW from legalising eScooters. They can't. You'd be surprised to know that the state government passes state legislation. Not the PM.

            Or perhaps it's because I didn't say shit about Morrison. That's an instant neg because people put feelings above facts.
