AFPYDY

Got inspired by M4rk's comment on TCL C727 and members mentioning TCL has 3 years warranty.

Is this the lowest price ever?

Price before this discount is $100 lower than LG 55 nano, the 65 inch is $100 higher than 65 inch LG nano, Same price for 75 inch for both LG and TCL tv.

  • Is LG nano full array?

  • anyone know if there is a rtings review for this model?

    • I remembered trying to search for rtings review on this model but not available, may be this model is only available on TGG. Not available in any other stores.

      https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/tcl/5-series-s546-2021-qle…

It's the US equivalent. They use different OS's (Google TV vs android TV), but I think they're otherwise the same

Basically a pretty good panel, main limitations are that the FALD is not as good as higher end TV's, and no 120hz. That said nothing near this price range even gives you FALD (outside the Hisense U7G) or 120hz, so it's pretty damn good.

Great price, super nice quality, decent speakers, and most of all - we went into the store in person, the person seems very kind and genuine, would recommend his business gladly.

Do mind the TV is "self made" smart, not Android TV, you may not get app updates as frequently or ever.

We're just happy with the 4k HDR 65" display , and we connected a console to it.

    Goodluckies!

Did your TV also come with 3 years warranty?

      • +1

12 month warranty, it is not brand new.
But for $500 seems about fair imo.
Better than what I would've gotten on the 2ndhand market

        • don't know why I started to get negs for asking 3 years warranty, may be people who neg didn't know I asked that before you edit you got it as a refurb.

          • @htc: Don't take it to heart, it's literally whatever, I happen to edit my message like 4 times between the time I posted it and the time you responded , so you probably saw the original

            • @The Milk Man: I got two negs but after my comment, the person took off one neg. May be you know the answer to this one, I tried to use google home and a smart power strip to turn on and off the tv. The tcl tv I have now does not turn on when I turn on the tv with google home, it go straight to standby mode. I had to manually turn the tv on by remote. I have unsuccessfully tried to change the setting on the tv but still haven't found a solution. Quite annoying thinking a new tv should make everything better. Also do you find the picture quality of free to air tv worse than your previous tv. Although when I play movies from prime, the picture quality is very good.

Have the C727 65” can confirm great quality for the price! Still feel you’ll probably want a sound bar though, but this is the case with most TVs now

    • Have you tried to use Google assistant to change free to air channels? It kept using YouTube.

After turning off the tv with Google assistant, cannot turn on the tv without pressing the power button on the tv again.

is qled still behind oled ?

is oled still the goto nowadays ?

or mini led ? micro led

    • +2

dependant on your budget & room needs

unlimited budget + dark room - OLED

unlimited budget + bright room with sun shining straight onto the TV - Mini Led

QLED TVs are generally brighter & more vibrant than their LED counterparts

      • unlimited budget + bright room with sun shining straight onto the TV

Who does this though. Is there any room which does not have a curtain?

        • Not when you have a living room facing the backyard and wall to wall ceiling to floor glass doors. How annoying would it be closing up the curtain everytime u want to watch tv during the day

until they make a good qled with 10000000 dimming zones then oled will be better other than brightness

    • +1

QD-OLED is coming out this year and will combine the benefits of OLED, without the traditional drawbacks that make high end LCDs's still viable (higher peak brightness and less chance of burn-in).

Micro led combines some of the benefits of OLED with LCD. Still won't have the perfect reponse times like OLED for example, but gets much better peak brightness. Unless you're willing to spend 100k on a TV it's not a thing yet, and won't be mainstream for some time.

Mini-led is just a FALD LCD with lots of local dimming zones

  • Is TCL better for reliability these days? Know a few people with older P20 models that have kicked the bucket and lots of threads on whirlpool with similar issues

  • I bought the 75inch …. from all I read, that was the only tv that offered most of good juicy features at the entry price. Planning to pair it up with sono arc.

  • This still comes with Android TV, they also have the newer Google tv version (dunno AUS availability) but with their track records with updates, and Android in general, I would recommend Google TV as it’s newer and replaces Android TV.

If you don’t care about this, probably good price/perf ratio. (FWIW, I read their Google tv version is very slow and had lots of ppl complaining).

  • Doesn't seem to work. Selecting AfterPay and then it says cannot apply coupon code…

  • I got one recently it is Google TV
