[OnePass] Leatherman Wave Plus Multi-Tool w/ Nylon Sheath $143.20 Delivered @ Catch

150

Previous deal is back up, and I price-matched today at BCF walk-in, same product with sheath. Been a long while since I got hands-on with leatherman, and this gen is shockingly better than I remember (every single tool locks out, 4 outside-accessible large blades, and overall quality).

From a previous deal description :

You need to be OnePass member to get this price and the free delivery.(free for first month, $4/month after that, free to cancel any time.) Also don't forget current 3% Cashrewards cashback.

The Leatherman Wave Plus Multi-Tool is an upgrade to the classic Wave, the bestselling Leatherman multi-tool of all time with all locking features. All of the tools packed into this 100 percent stainless steel 17-in-1 multi-tasker can be opened and locked with one hand quickly, so you don't need to pause. Several of the tools, including the 420HC knife blade, are outside-accessible, so you can open them without unfolding your Wave. Handy!

  • Correction - 2x external blades (normal and serrated), 1 sawblade, 1 triple-sided file fold out externally.

  • Was this deal up when there was 15% cashback?

    • +1

I was thinking the same. Haha!

  • I paid $169 for my second one and not even mad at this price - it’s a very nice multi tool ( I have 1 in black and one in stainless, loved em that much.)

maybe my only complaint is sometimes if trying to put too much force on pliers / wire cutter part l it can cause the handle bit to loosen, making it hard to open back to plier mode.

  • Tempting but still holding off for the OHT version to go back on sale!!! I have the Rebar and love it…. Either the OHT or bigger Victorinox version Soldier/Trail Blazer.

    • I'm waiting for OHT as well. Catch deals have been a little bit lacklustre in the last few weeks, ever since that last OHT sold out. Some marketeer must have thought, "we're out of stock on Leatherman! Let's put all the prices up, and then put in a 'price reduction' - more profit for us!". Also waiting for Tti to hit the ~$220 all time low (maybe I'm just dreaming).

      • Tti? Actually some $25 multitool i bought from amazon has quite decent build and quality as well. Wonder if i should keep buying Leatherman haha

        • +2

Yes, their flagship titanium scales multitool. The S30V blade on that one caught my eye.

I think cheaper tools could definitely do the job most of the time (maybe all the time?). If you're into fondling well-made steel objects (that sounds a bit wrong) like myself, the extra cost is justified.

        • i'm a titanium tragic. i don't even use the one i bought..just take it out to fondle occasionally lol

          • @tdw: Jeez… My mental picture of "fondling" is so different now.

            • @Bargain-er: you don't wanna know what i do with my titanium spork ;)

    • I can't get over how nice having every single tool lock out is.

  • The surge is $175. Is that better value?

    • In terms of value, not sure. Haven't looked at usual RRP vs that price. But in terms of practicality, it's essentially a larger wave with a few different tools. Bigger scissors, awl punch. Wave+ 241g vs Surge 335g, significantly larger.

Bigger tools, more bulk. The Wave fits in the hand well and I think it'll do everything I need it to, and I'm pocket carrying it. But if it were more of a glovebox/backpack thing I might go the surge.
