  • I wonder how it compared with Harris Smooth Ground Coffee. I bought quite a lot of Harris when it is around 10 AUD/kg!

Having tried Harris I think Lavazza is better. Harris was pretty bad so I just turned it into icecream and that works well with any coffee… even instant.

      • Thanks mate. Will buy some to test!

What grinder people use for the moka pot?

  • Why would anyone buy pre-ground coffee by the kilogram?
I'm not one of those coffee snobs who demands a 'roasted on' date, but anyone can tell that pre-ground has a limited life once you open the bag.
A grinder need not cost more than a few bags of coffee.

Same reason fast food exists. It's fast.

      • Sure, but "kilo bags"?
You can at least buy the "4x 250g" packs.

However, I think the "fast food" types nowadays mostly use pods (expensive but fresh) or instant.

        • I do know people who prefer to buy ground coffee because they cbf to grind it themselves. Sometimes I use it too.

Spot on. Plenty of Breville smartgrinder deals on here for 200 or thereabouts. No way I'd buy pre-ground coffee, it's heinous.

    • Maybe it's cheaper to buy in bulk and some people might value that vs 4 smaller packs?

Understand where you are coming from as fresher grounds make better coffee and larger packs will lead to stale grounds
