3080 deal is 19% faster 50w better psu for upgrades too
    https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-RTX-3080-vs-Nvi…

    • +3

      Link the deal?

    • +10

DO not use userbenchmark, its a completely bullshit website with artifically made up stats. Literally even a youtube benchmark would be better than using that pos site.

      • What would you normally recommend for a quick comparison?

        • +2

          https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html

or just find a benchmark comparison on youtube tbh, even jarrod who normally does laptop reviews did a few of them desktop gpu comparison

Literally any reviews are better than userbenchmark as long as they test the cards on the same system and everything. I would do anything to stay away from userbenchmark as they are not trust worthy to any degree.

        • +1

I use my eye as a benchmark, I can count to 30 before I get tired and need a nap.
So I do this as a service for most of my friends, I charge them many shekels and then we eat.

      • 94fps vs 69fps at 4k it's even more than 19% in real world benchmarks?

        • Steam user survey feb 2022 shows 67.4% of gamers use 1080p monitors, with only 9.7% using 1440p and 2.3% using 2160p and this is definitely a more gaming oriented build.

Sure, it's more performance but that doesn't mean most need or would benefit from it. Great that there's the choice but at 1080p most people will be more than fine with RTX 3060 Ti when the RTX 3080 build is 26% more expensive.

Don't get me wrong, it's doing pretty well at avoiding law of diminishing returns re fps but most people, especially with their 60Hz 22-24" 1080p monitors won't benefit.

Bpc is great but be aware they often use Aramex for shipping who are appalling

    • Haven't ordered much from BPC, but what's bad about Aramex? Only ever used them a few times.

      • +4

I think these reviews should paint you a glaring picture. And they're as recent as 55 mins ago.

        • +3

I posted my experience about them on another post here, they are the worst ever in this universe. Absolutely no customer support at all, no phoneline to call, and their online chat is fake, i opened one up and left it there like 2 hours while at work, no one ever talked to me. Status ever only give you your tracking number and thats it. So you never know what happen to your package, then after 1 week late from the proposed delivery date, it showed up at my front door on a Sunday morning, without even asking for signature, then after 1 day later online tracking status will update with all the details and told you delivered … No way i will risk $2k worth of a pc with these useless idiots.

          • +1

@kaikor: The horror stories get worse, apparently at head office, 1 person deal on the phones, they leave early, an actual customer witnessed this when they went to pick up their parcel from the office.

^^ Don't know how true this is but given my experience with them, I would never ever use them ever evoar EVOAAAR!!!

My 2 reviews, 1st was about how I witnessed the driver throwing my expensive package (security cam)
2nd, my package was onboard for delivery for 2 weeks.

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: Lucky all my items are under $50 and the last one via them is a tiny rice cooker, can tell they just threw it sideway at my front door stairs (rather than sitting up right safe in a corner), lucky didnt damage that and rice still cook nice lol! But yeah for a $2k pc system, even it will arrive, I still won't trust these @ssholes handling it … For any interstate buyers, BPC is really risking their own name.

              • +1

@kaikor: It's a damn shame as BCP could already had a better relationship with other delivery partners, not to rain on their parade but you just cannot expect something with this expense to be trusted with cowboys like Arsamex.
I have given Australia post a bad review too as I could see my parcel going everywhere bar to me. This was really a one off BUT it's not an excuse for a company like BCP to entrust your expensive items to knob jockeys like Arsamex.
I am lucky that I can go pick up personally but again saving a few dollars to get cheapest delivery, shit you might as well just use Sendle, they actually deliver.

          • +1

@kaikor: They sent mine aus post

      • +3

They’re possibly the worst courier in the country.

BPC mentioned only for expensive order like 2k or more they don’t use them but generally they use them a lot

        • +3

BPC need to be made aware as their reputation will eventually get hurt due to orders not being delivered.
Cheap doesn't mean good if you cannot track your item, 1 review states their item was delivered to their post box but stolen and Kogan wont do anything about it, so it is between Arsamex and the customer.
I ask for a refund from anything off eBay sellers if I find out they use this company.
          a) they say they post via AP then say Arsamex.
          b) there is no tracking number.
          c) pot luck if you get your item.

I wrote 2 reviews, 1 a year ago that was over written by my latest one, can you guess how many times I have had items delivered with Arsamex?
Yes that's right, twice. 100% failure rate.

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: I am so ready to buy from BPC but now all becoz of this trash Aramex, sorry couldn't do that, been looking for a good prebuilt deal since mid last year, and BPC is really good with exact details listed for all the parts they are using, but really can't risk my hard earn cash like this, simply not worth it …

            • @kaikor: Bro, ring BPC and voice your concerns, don't not under any circumstances allow anything to be shipped by Arsamex.

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: I emailed them and mentioned that Aramex is terrible and some people are refusing to buy because of their bad reputation. That’s when a salesperson said they use other couriers for over 2k.

More people should bring it to their attention.

I’m not sure how Aramex is still running when it has the worst customer reviews I’ve ever seen

            • +1

@Yaas: You wanna know who I used when I got my GPU?
Well I got one off eBay impulse buy 3070Ti, too good to resist with AP sale, expecting Tuesday delivery from Thursday order 10 am as soon as AP sale kicked in.
Friday 2pm my GPU is here, from QLD to VIC.
This prompted me to leave a raving review for the eBay seller which has B&M store.
Can it get any better than this? Australia post actually came through with an express order. My jaw dropped and i have been brutal with Australia Post too, but they do come through and they are burdened heavily.
BCP needs to not screw around with its customers and give them the option of what delivery they want.

            • @Yaas: This will be my biggest problem: 'a salesperson said they use other couriers for over 2k'
As I am only gonna buy their cheaper 3060 prebuilt meaning 100% they will use Arsamex …

              • -1

@kaikor: Yeah don't do it, it would be like George Pell opening up some child minding centers, we know it wont end well.

                Too soon?

Had 24 aramex orders from ebay last month. Out of those only 3 were delivered at the 1st attempt, with the remaining marked as "Undeliverable - no one at home"…despite working from home. Some of these required as much as 4 reattempts. 1 of these was a heavy item which I had to carry from their warehouse as they refused to attempt re-delivery after the 1st (non)attempt. Another parcel ended up delivered to the wrong building which couldn't be traced. The building manager happened to hand it to my local auspost postie a month later who then went out of their way to deliver it to me. Pretty much the same experience while living in 2 other suburbs, even before their brand change.

The moment I see them on the tracking link I know it's going to be an adventure, lol.

They used to be called Fastway Couriers, they can change their name but a leopard can't change its spots.

        • +4

Yep should have called Arseway Couriers instead!

        • I did not know this thanks.

    • Spot on. Aramex are terrible based on previous experiences

    • +1

just let you know Aramex is used to be called FASTWAY….

    • Just received my 970 evo plus from BPC with the afterpay specials in 4 days from ordering MLB - BRIS. First time ordering from them, but couldnt comment on a full tower delivery.

    • I have also used Aramex in the past to send multiple assembled computers.
I DO NOT use them any more due to many DOA's after using their service.

Only use them if you absolutely HAVE to and try not to order a computer with an installed CPU tower cooler as this is the main point of fault.
They obviously throw packages around during transport and unfortunately tower coolers are extremely hard to support during transit.

The inertial/weight of the tower coolers cause damage to the mainboard socket, sometimes even damaging the CPU pins (mainly AMD).

  • Is the techfast x tightarse deal better?

    • I'm a new-age AMD fanboi but it's a better gpu and enough change for half an O

  • Would it be ok to take this and just swap out the GPU with my 1080 Ti?

    • +1

You can ask for boxed parts and sell it 😉 for $750. Just buy the 3080 deals at least that's an upgrade

  • Asking the ozbargain community here. What do you think the chances of a build like this but with a 3070ti for similar price are in the next month or 2?
    Prices seem to be plummeting.

This existed with Intel for around 1800.

    • Not worth it will cost more and no 2 yr warranty

  • -8

I can't see any way for the CPU or GPU to access airflow, that case will absolute bake those components.
Good if you want to roast a chicken, terrible if you want a half-way decent PC.

    • +1

You don't see the mesh top and front? Along with what I'm assuming is an exhaust vent in the standard spot? If I look up the case it also looks like there's a vent on the bottom too.

      • The case in the listing (100R) is different to the case in the picture. There's no mesh there, it's one of MSI's old acrylic cases.
The CPU can get some airflow due to negative pressure from the rear case fan, but it'll be fighting against hot air rising out the top. The GPU on the other hand, will cook.

        • +2

The mag forge 100r is what's shown in the pictures when you scroll down. The mag forge 111r is what's shown in the product pictures near the top. Both have a mesh front. Unless they've decided to use neither of those cases, which would be quite odd.

Friends don't let friends use Sendle/Couriers Please or Fastway/Aramex

      • I have had 3 deliveries from Sendle, can confirm 100% success rate.

        • +2

A Powerball ticket should be your next purchase.

        • Agreed. Nobody complained so far about things i've sent with Sendle/Couriers Please.

      • Sendle seems much better compared to aramex or fastway, they are truly ridiculous

  • Any mini-ITX builds?
