    Great starting watch for kids.

    • -2

Moonswatch is a good starting watch for kids

  • I was looking at the description but then got turned off by this.. lol it’s like saying not for children but the product is for children so …?

WARNING: This product contains a button/coin battery and is hazardous. Keep batteries away from children. Batteries can cause severe or fatal injuries in 2 hours or less if swallowed or placed inside any part of the body. Medical attention should be sought immediately if it is suspected the battery has been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body.

Just gotta make sure your child does not accidentally find a Philip screwdriver, unscrew the watch and swallow the delicious looking battery.

    • +1

Child already had a mid life crisis if they can get the button cell out themselves and eat it.

    • It's a standard warning for coin batteries. They are slowish(?) but lethal if swallowed

    • If your kids can't resist swallowing, but can unscrew already, you will be screwed.

    • Other good thing would be teaching your kids what's are lollies, drug tablets and what are batteries very early on, even you are 100% careful, accident can still happens.

  • +2

@prankster - I would be impossible for a child who should be kept away from batteries to get inside this garmin without an irresponsible adult providing help :) I've replaced these batteries twice. One lasted 1-year another one almost 1.5 years.

    • +1

Oh, so you CAN replace the batteries on this! I got one for my daughter and was wondering if you could

      • +1

Yes it’s replaceable but need to make sure the seal sits correctly when putting it back together or it won’t be very waterproof anymore.

    • +1

  • Can this track missing kids ? Lol

    • No, and you can't track it when lost either

  • Pretty good price, but my kids lost interested once they finished the story, there should be a way to add or change stories

Thank you. Makes a great birthday present for my daughter.

    Whats the suitable age?

Parents help me out here, I have a niece who's 11th birthday is coming up…. Which one is she likely to like? Frozen II?

Also have a nephew about to turn 13, assume he's too old?

    • +2

I think 11 is probably too old from this one - they want fancier watches like proper Garmin/Apple etc. She’s not likely to be into frozen at 11 - that’s more 5-8yo.

    • 11 year old is too old for frozen, she is approaching her teen years. just get a plain one.

  • Do these come switched on in box. Or okay to buy now for Christmas?

    • +1

Pretty sure they aren’t switched on but either way, battery replacement is cheap.

      • Does it need a standard battery or any specific one for Garmin? And can it be done at home?

        • +1

It’s a CR1632 battery which you can purchase from many outlets including Bunnings for under $6. 4 screws (small Philips head) to remove on the back of the unit but just make sure the waterproof seal is sitting correctly when you put it back together. Instructions here

  • does this actually tell the time?

    • +1

      Yes.

    • a watch that tells time? that's weird.

  • Anyone else getting estimated Australia Post delivery 17th May with Jb-Hifi purchase?

    • +1

Doesn’t look like much stock left so it may be getting shipped to you from a store on the other side of Australia and they are just being extra cautious with estimated times.

  • I just got refunded without reason from JB.

    • No stock.

      I got refunded as well.

But also got a voucher for the Vivo 3.

      • I ended up getting a voucher for the 3 as well, 50% off seems pretty good although its still 2x the price I wanted to pay for the v2.

  • Same… bummer..

  • i bought from amazon and got free prime shipping asap. great deal coming from over $100
