If you have Good Guys commercial, its 285 + delivery (c&c free) for one unit.

  • Does anyone know what these are like compare to Ubiquiti UniFis?

I'm using it for almost one year. Excellent coverage of the mesh and speed. Zero issues. The router consistently runs scans to optimise channels to avoid interference. However, no firmware update since July 2021. Which is a neutral point perhaps as there are no issues. Happy to answer if someone has any questions.

Did you use a different mesh/wifi system before the X90? How's the handoff between nodes etc? Can you have multiple SSIDs and VLANs?

      • No. This is the only Mesh system I've used at home. Though I have used routers and wifi extenders setup. But this Mesh is far more reliable and consistent in coverage, speed and signal strength. I've seen reviews and comparisons between this and Asus but decided to pick this up as Asus frequently releases firmware updates that are sometimes buggy which leads to instability. Handoffs are excellent as I never even noticed if wifi is switched from one node to another. I am not sure why you would want Multiple SSID as it's a Mesh router. But I checked and didn't see an option to configure different SSIDs or set one SSID for 2.4Ghz and one for 5Ghz. Same for VLAN. No options. This router is configured via App on Phone and it's limited in options which is understandable as it is targeted toward home users (excluding Advanced users). Website access only shows currently configured settings, you can't modify them.

    • TP-Link still need to implement a manual channel selection. My M9plus' do the scan, but will just merge back to standard after the day. Not a massive issue but could be for some people

Hoping they added the feature to disable dhcp server. It's a bugger if you have wired devices to the main router as it creates two desparate networks

    • Absolutely. It's a great piece of hardware but the firmware sucks.
I read something about 'smart DHCP' meaning the DHCP will turn itself off if it detects another server, but I don't really believe that.

    • Can’t you just put it in AP mode? That disables NAT and DHCP…

      • One unit has to be main unit which enables dhcp
