    • +8

keep on saying it and eventually at some point in the future it'll be correct.

      • +7

        The year is 2049

        Username checks out

    • I got one of these at $1600 on the month of release, VERY happy with it.

The only caveat / pain is the sheer size of the card, which just barely fit in my gigantic case.

  • wow, didn't see this coming

  • +7

Pretty remarkable how the price has fallen from $2500 on the used market to $1100 for a new one in the space of a year.

    • Easy come, easy go.

  • +1

Aren't there new models, and more competition coming soon?

Distributors, retailers are probably trying to clear all the stock.

  • Most likely a price error.

    • +6

most likely only 1-2 pcs for those price, just to generate website traffic

  • Some product manager accidentally put cost price as sale price on their server? That decimal places on the price looks suspicious.

  • +4

Don't worry. It will below $1084 soon

    • Yup, plenty of cheap card coming, next 2 week will be below $1k

  • damn it .. I blinked .. hahaha

  • Comes up as $1231

  • So it says fastway $20.46 shipping with insurance cover up to $1500
    Australia post regular $28.31
    Australia post express $35.31

So does Australia post shipping provide any insurance cover at all here?

    • +2

Lol no, they will leave it at your door without signature for easy theft. Parcel collect only for this dude

  • +1

Seems like quite a few of people are hodling for 4000 series

    • +2

Nothing wrong with that. Probably because their current GPUs are still playing quite well.

    • Yeah, still managing on my GTX 1080. Thought i might upgrade to RTX 2000 series, then RTX 3000 series and well, here we are and RTX 4000 series is on the horizon!

    • If it can do 3 x 4K for sim racing … then yeh I’m in :)

  • +3

I upgrade from 1080 ti to RTX 3080 and it is amazing. Love it.

    • +2

Upgrading from 1070 to 3080 mainly to play MSFS 2020 on ultrawide 3440x1440 monitor. Yeah, big improvement as expected.

  • i am kinda scared to buy new cards now …

Fkn funny. Saddled with hundreds of thousands of the bloody things, I’d be happy for a ex mining card for $100 😂. New thermal grease and bobs your uncles brother

      • +1

I'm wondering, during the last mining boom, how many GPUs were in use for mining, compared to now?
I know when it crashed last time there wasn't a HUGE flood of cards, but now I wonder how many more cards there are in circulation.

I Imagine most are in China and Kazakhstan etc, but just an interesting thought.

Some inside info would be good to have from the mining world crew.

We may be in for a tsunami of used cards

        • Nothing like this, with every man and his dog loading nicehash during covid

        • before the June 24th China ban, the network hash rate was 600 TH/s
On June 24th it dropped to 455 TH/s, 150 TH/s cards on the move to US/Kazakhstan
Since that time the hash rate has kept increasing, never had a drop,
Today its 1.03 PH/s, and there's a big jump in the last two weeks due to the price drop

          https://2miners.com/eth-network-hashrate

When the market crash, new miners or the miners been scammed by expensive price sell their cards,
but most of them been bought up by the experienced or big scale miners

The farms managed by me total hash rate jumped by 12.5% in the last two weeks

So this deal is a price error as confirmed by BPC Tech rep in another post.

    • Oh wow haha nice, guess they have to honour it?

      • I'm not the rep, you have to ask the rep.
