$1k over phone with literally no local warranty support, pass. Also, Oneplus phone always known to have issues getting VoLTE/VoWiFi working here in Australia out of the box.

    • Can confirm, have oneplus 8 pro, there are work arounds for VoLTE and VoWiFi but they're finicky and the 5G definitely does not work for Telstra, Optus or Vodafone… at least I couldn't get it to work at all

      • I have a 9 pro with super fast 5G and I'm with Telstra

  • I want a mi max 4 alternative that was never made.

7 inch screen that isn't tall and skinny.

    • The new iPad Mini fits the bill I reckon

Just buy a pixel 6/6 pro or wait for the 6a

$1178.97 + GST (10%) = $1296.87 even after using seller coupon and expired code.

OnePlus makes good phones don't get me wrong, but $1300 for a phone with no local warranty (or generally local parts) is a hard sell. Even more so when they're becoming more Oppo-fied every year anyway.

  • THIS or iPhone 13 mini hmmmm tough choice

    • +4

      Not really.

I used to own a one plus 7 pro. I’d advise the iPhone. OnePlus no longer update phones quickly or at all actually. Plus oppo have taken over again so the future is quite uncertain as they try to figure out what’s next. I own a 13 pro max and am soo glad to have switched.

OnePlus isn’t a company that I’d give money to any more. They used to be great. But those days are long gone. They have well and truly settled.

    • more info please minus the hacking scandle

also with this durability test where the phone with a simple bend, cracks in 2 parts pass….

    Durability just for reference:

  • $1234 here with 1 year Aus warranty - https://www.becextech.com.au/catalog/onep10pro12r256forfi-p-…

Disclaimer - CN version and never purchased from Becextech before so don't know what they are like to deal with.

  • AFAIK, there is no import duty on phones but you will need to pay fees to have the items cleared through customs since it is greater than AUD 1000. You will have to fill in a declaration unless the shipper does it for you or you engage a broker. I believe some sellers deliberately declare lower values on items so some people take chances.

  • Update: There's a new coupon: OP10PRO40 (US $40 / AU $ 54.27 off) New price: US $859

Didn't work and price showing as $999US

  • I'm actually still using the one plus 6 and it was only a couple of months ago where I still received updates.
I was planning to upgrade to 9, 9 pro or wait for 10 but seeing the comments is deterring me.
I've been so happy with the 6 and a few phones prior I even had the OnePlus 1 which is what lead me to the 6.

Staying with Android is there another phone around the 700-800 or (less is okay) phone that I should look into? Anyone?
