Will come in handy for some of you looking to buy some books. A few pointers though:

  1. Check booko.com.au for the cheapest price on the books you're after…Abebooks will usually be somewhere near the top, and more often than not be the cheapest when discount coupon is applied.
  2. Depending on the seller, the discount may not be necessarily applied to P/H…that's my understanding of it anyways..
  3. Coupon code can only be applied once per session, but if you log out and clear cookies, or use your private mode in your browser, you can use the coupon more the once (based on comments by f4te - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/65193)

Enjoy!

If you're using booko, also remember that bookdepository has 10% off with the code APMA12 (see the deal for more information http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/67843 ). It may work out cheaper from the bookdepository. Still a good deal, wish it was on a week ago when I bought stuff.

    • Thanks, Ms Kram (see my next comment)

  • I -would- have bought, eg, Amory Lovins' "Reinventing Fire" from Abe's…

but their price ($35 inc S+H) only drops by $3.50

Compare to FishPond.com.au: $30.28 incl S+H (Not bad for a seriously -useful- hardcover book)

I'd buy from FishPond, except Amazon has it (for Kindle) priced at US$ 19.22

I'd buy it for Kindle, but - a book with this one's popularity is likely to come in paperback "any day now"

    :-)

[And, of course, some will find it on P2P or UseNet.]

For my part, I think I'll get the $30 "dead-tree" edition, read it & later sell it in time to buy the softcover with the amount I get for the hardcover edition. ;-)

Now, I might buy from "booko" in the UK, ie, if they include S+H in their prices; they show $30.84 -before- the latest 10% discount is deducted.

Yep, they win my custom, with the price $27.75 incl S+H

Oh, some of the above prices (but NOT The Book Depository's) may be in US$, biasing me a bit…

Still "booko" has won -this- "buyer's market auction" ;-)

    Tip: ALWAYS SHOP 'ROUND!!

PS Amory Lovins has a 27 min talk on TED.com at the moment, for those who may be interested in Energy issues, including Electric Vehicles (EVs)
