Similar to other sony headphone deals.

No noise canceling but otherwise similar to WF-1000XM3 apparently.

  • Just bought a pair too. Thanks!

Code didn't work for me so cost $92, still a good price imo.

    • It is an Ebay+ code.

      • +1

…Code is unique to each account.

  • Thanks OP. Got a pair. Reviews look pretty good for $87.

  • Would this be good enough if used for some light workouts or cardio at the gym?

    • +1

I don't have these headphone yet, but they are probably not ideal. I would go with headphones designed for sports.

I use this one that I got cheap ages ago.
      https://www.jbl.com.au/JBL+Endurance+JUMP.html?dwvar_JBL%20E…

Sound quality is average, but they are very secure and comfortable. Depending on how loud your gym is you may want noise cancelling also.

      • +1

I have JBL Endurance Dive, which are very similar and I absolutely strongly don't recommend them.

Not only are they no good for swimming, but even running in the rain, or sweating a lot makes operating them next to impossible.
Thas said they do stay in-ear securely, and have good sound quality for general on-the-street use.
If you can get them for $60-70 on sale like I did they may be a good option for some light workout, but I recon the designers didn't do much IRL testing on these.

It will be fine for gym.

    • +1

Good for gym; I also wear them when cycling, gardening, etc.

Lack noise cancellation which in this case is great, because I can still slightly hear other people around me.

They have a snug moulded fit so stay firm. Strong wind doesn't make them move. I expect running maybe not as bouncing may break the seal and get annoying. Pressure relief valve is great too for hot bodies.

Downside is not water or IPX4 resistant. A light sweat is okay and I have worn them in the rain without effect.

I do have Jaybird actives but sun these in without any real difference.

    • Would be concerned with them falling out

    • These ones may be a better pick for the gym - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/284547345778

  • Orange model available too:

there are a few colors available at this price. orange, green, red, black

makes me wonder how come they have so many of different colors of this model in "damaged boxes". did an elephant sit on a container of these

      • +5

        Australia Post delivered them.

        • more like Aramex. they went to the wrong state and did a detour via a garbage processing plant

      • Probably a pallet fell off a forklift or something. That's what happens when you let kids drive forklifts.

      • I've noticed discontinued on the actual Sony store.

Guessing these are shelf damaged returned stock Sony was forced to take back from retailers, or possibly products returned under Sony's program where you can return anything within 30 days. So somebody touched or scratched the box but product wasnt used.

  • +2

Why Sony has the most box damaged products ever. They should look into their logistics company.

    • +5

Maybe other companies just write off box damaged products or get new boxes for them?

    • +1

Sony let's you returned any products you don't like within 30 days for full refund. Retailers or online buyers sending stuff back to Sony.

Even dumb things like the JB staff bruising the package on the shelf get returned to Sony.

  • Are these out of stock? Ebay is behaving very weird with them.

  • Thanks, bought a pair of the red ones as the black are OOS. Been after a pair of in ear for a bit for a great price

  • Black seem OOS

  • Got sidetracked while there were still 7 red, now they're all OOS.

    Damn.

  • Already have WF-1000XM3, guess i have to pass on this.
    Great price tho

    • +3

These are better than the M3 if you don't want the NC. Way more musical in quality.

People who bought this got a bargain, very good quality.

      • -1

Nah, sound wise 1000x sound better. Especially with ANC on.

  • Oos

  • Anyone know why the green have RRP of $350 and the black/red are RRP $250?

  • -4

these items are all used, just in case you haven't read the fine print… awks

    • -1

Dont know where that is cause Sony says:
"AS NEW: This item may have damaged carton. It is an unused & undamaged item in its original packaging."
      and eBay says:
"Condition: Opened – never used: An item in excellent, new condition with no wear. "

    • -1

Where does it say like that?

      • -4

        in the listing

      • -3

It is on every of these Sony deals.
"The item may be a factory second (i.e. it has a small flaw that does not affect the operation of the item such as a scratch or dent)." …. ]
amongst other terms saying that they are 'seconds' and 'refurbished'.

      • -3

used headphones for a slight discount? … ewwww

    • +7

Luv your salty tears. Sorry you'd missed out these great deal. Damaged box from a bit of floods, no biggie.

  • Has anyone’s orders been posted out yet

    • Nope

    • Not sent here, says "Estimated delivery Fri 8 Apr"
They might still be damaging all those boxes because of the Ozbargain 1 day sell out.

      • +1

Just cancelled mine….but looks like they are beginning to ship

        • My order has just been cancelled :-(

          • @mathew42: What colour was your cancelled order?

            • @Dobe: Black, not that I care too much.

    • No correspondence till today, I received an invoice and tracking.

  • I received the other Sony $5 box damaged earphones today via dhl.

  • Got it today.

What box damage? Mine looks brand new and shrink wrapped/sealed!

Should have broden em more! Yay

  • I received mine today in a perfect box, no damage at all.
Unfortunately, the earphones won't turn on after leaving them to charge for over 3 hours. Blue lights doesn't turn on. Anyone else experienced something similar?

    • Same. Mine is orange ver, barcode label showing 2019/2020. Maybe dead batteries?
I will let it charge for 24 hrs & see what will happen.

    • Any luck?
