Natural Rubber Insertion Strip is made of SBR rubber with a strong polyester liner, giving it a better tear strength than ordinary rubber strip.
Insertion rubber strip is used in applications such as barriers and edging. Also available as a Natural Insertion Sheet.

            @deme: Nope, that's called a spline and is much thinner (the width of this one starts from 25mm).

        From the description it seems to be general purpose i.e. whatever way you can think to use it.

        From the web I also found the below for another similar product:
