@vuduguru: All the modern hypervisors are solid for the general use cases. Just use what you are comfortable with.
I like Proxmox for easier setup to double up the box to as a desktop at the same time, ie. passthrough of iGPUs with HDMI output is impossible on ESXi. The most I could do was to pass iGPUs to VMs for decoding but not HDMI output.
Also Proxmox seem to have better support for generic hardware. ESXi is a bit of an extra hassle to load drivers for non-Intel NICs.

Yes, for sure. I did this for a year with a WD Elements 12TB drive before moving it into to a HPE Microserver. NUCs are great little things.

@eraser215: the integrated graphics for N6005 is a lot better (relatively speaking) in this new generation.
moderate improvement in the processing power and thermal efficiency, renders the old gen redundant.
but the new gen boxes don't have 2.5" HDD/SSD space which may be a deal breaker for many people.

NUC's come with a genuine Intel power-supply. Similar to a laptop.
