  • USB3 TP. Me likey.

It’s worth noting that the paper specifications are not really relevant. The U-bend is the rate-limiting factor when it comes to large downloads

  • These feel soft

  • Well, many movies are $#$@

  • +8

    it was much cheaper before

      That was pre-inflation

Are you really an ozbargainer if you use 4ply?

    • +18

Yes I am. I rinse and dry it after use.

    • +13

It can be split into 4 separate 1 ply sheets per sheet

      • Naaah, too thin. I split mine into 2 ply.

  • +2

    Baffled by the movie reference.

    But intrigued, nonetheless…

  • this is a god-tier toilet tissue

  • 4 ply is too thick

    • +1

depends if you want to reduce to risk of wiping your ass with your fingers

      • +1

Wait, you don’t use your fingers?

        • -1

          Not to wipe my arse…

          • -1

@Tiggrrrrr: That went right over your head…

            • -1

              @Beyond: And over yours?

              • @Tiggrrrrr: That's twice now it's gone over your head.

It's rather ironic if you ask me.

                • @Beyond: And over yours?

                  Thanks Alanis

                  • @Tiggrrrrr: That response doesn't make sense. Perhaps this isn't the year for you to figure out what that common expression means.

                    • @Beyond: And over yours?

                      • @Tiggrrrrr: Now, it appears that you've realized that you are in fact a moron and are just repeating yourself in embarrassment.

                        As you were.

    price is not good

    • yeah used to be 12 to $13 with S&S

      • It hasn't been under $20 since October last year. That's 5 months ago. Inflation sucks, right?

By all means wait, but even if a deal pops up, you'll have to be quick to jump on it.

Personally, my last S&S bulk order is running low, so I'm just going to have to suck it up on this one.

  • +1

The roll runs out quicker too compared to 3 ply.

    • +3

You are supposed to use less paper with this

      • Is it designed to wipe more with less?

  • +3

This is better value! 15 roles more for same price!
    Quilton 3 Ply Toilet Tissue (180 Sheets per Roll, 11x10cm), Pack of 45 (9 Pack x 5 = 45) https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07KY6Z67S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i…

    • 4 ply is nicer feeling on your butt tho.. but yeah this is solid offer too if you can go back from 4ply to sandpaper 3ply ;)

    • +1

The 48 pack is EVEN cheaper (0.01 per roll!)

      • +3

1 cent per roll?! No sheet!

    • Yes will stick to the 3 ply I think

My kids back the loo up all the time with 3 ply. God help me the trouble would have with 4 ply.

    • I tried going back to 3 Ply after using the 4 Ply - felt like I was taking some 40 Grit to my butt.

      • +1

Put 1 sheet of 4 ply on top of 3 ply. Get all of the softness of 4 ply and economy of 3 ply.

  • Great way to block the dunny.

    • What toilet paper do you recommend?

We just placed our first order for recycled and bamboo toilet paper.

    • Eat more fibre

  • +2

I like double length rolls… I get sick of changing rolls twice a day… The joys of living with 3 females.

    • +2

You use half a roll (90 sheets) each per day?
      Are you eating it?.

  • +7

$21 is the highest price it has been, and yet here we are with upvotes on it.

Either the past covid shortages have turned people to be complacent with paying full price for Quilton rolls, or Amazon/Quilton is running some sort of genius marketing/shilling program to make full price palatable for Ozbargainers.

Yes I'm aware this is cheaper per roll than colesworth, but you'd expect to be paying less per roll for a 30 pack. Per roll, woolies is 79c/roll vs 71c/roll here, which makes woolies 11% more expensive per roll for their 12 pack, which aligns; invalidating the 'inflation' argument. Here is some basic modelling for the FULL price you should expect to pay (per roll) for 30 rolls:
    Link

    • People are paying $18.90 (subscribe & save) for this deal ($0.63/roll), not $21 ($0.70/roll).

      • -7

S&S is an Amazon-imposed discount, Amazon themselves don't generally factor it in (along with delivery costs) when matching/aligning prices with other big retailers, so the S&S price should be ignored when comparing prices against other retailers.

        For example:
Ajax Professional Mould Remover Cleaning Spray 500ml is $2.90 @ Woolies this week. Amazon has matched that price ($2.90) as it's 'one time purchase' price, with a further 10% off if you choose Subscribe and Save ($2.61).

Whatever you've just said, whatever your reasoning is here - it's cheaper than elsewhere.

          • @pizzaguy: For this reply, I'll entertain the argument where we consider S&S price.

Yes, that is true at face value. It's cheaper than elsewhere when you look at cost PER ROLL, as long as you don't factor in the quantity you need to buy. I could say I can get it cheaper elsewhere by buying 100 pallets.

If you look at the image I had in my original post, you should be expecting to pay around 67c per roll for a 30 pack at full price (which funnily almost coincides with the previous regular Amazon price of $20). The current S&S price of 63c per roll is still a measly 6% discount from what you should be paying at full price.

Is 6% off considered a deal?

            • @hippocrit:

Is 6% off considered a deal?

I appreciate the explanation and illustration, but you must be so new here.

              • @pizzaguy: The intention of my post is to hopefully educate some that there are other variables to consider when considering what constitutes a deal on Quilton TP.

The negs don't bother me as I can back my argument.

If we get complacent with voting on these full price Quilton deals, we're going to ultimately screw ourselves over as retailers take advantage of this.

                • @hippocrit: It's a good deal.

By your rationale, 50% off a $2 roll should take preference, but most voters clearly see this offering as a good value proposition, irrespective of not listing an inflated RRP as the baseline. I agree with them…

                  • @UncleRico: Yes that's obvious, you and others think it's a good deal. I'm disagreeing, and have put my arguments on why you should rethink your reasoning. I don't need everyone to agree with me. Can't it be as simple as that?

My rationale implies that if you buy a single roll of this product, you are expected to pay around $1.1 at full price, so $1 (50% off a $2 individual roll pack) is still somewhat poor value for a 'discounted price'.

            • @hippocrit: Lol.

A 30 pack is a pretty standard quantity in current times.

Just ask @Jonagrah, that's only a 2 week supply. Nom Nom Nom

Not to mention that Coles has their new 4ply 25% larger King rolls for $0.05 less per roll then this deal. Yes it has 20 sheets less per roll (140 vs 120), but its 15% less, while the Coles ones have the 25% larger sheets.

  • Good post. Was down to my last dozen rolls :)

  • Thanks. Ordered. For essentials, definition of deal needs to factor in availability and current market price because you buy when you run out!

  • +1

This pack should be enough for making a mummy.

Support your local retailer and buy with cash

Keep buying from Amazon and you will be a slave to NWO

  • $13 is the deal price. This is no deal.
