You know the drill, especially if you have a PS5

WD Black SN850 with heatsink.

A bit miffed, since I paid $388 for the standard SN850 2TB and purchased an aftermarket heatsink for $20, just 4 days ago.

Anyways, if you're like me and have already filled up your PS5 (I hear there's been a lot more stock the past week) HD. Then perfect time I guess.
Also, it's plug and play, unlike the Samsung equivalent. From the comments here regarding the Samsung equivalent, you have to install it on your PC and update the software first before plugging it into your PS5.

Cheaper on Amazon US if you have a no fee international TX card.

Are you saying you would have happily paid an extra $30 to get the WD heatsink, bringing your heatsink cost to $50?

You can buy purpose built ps5 heatsinks that fully replace the cover and everything and surely do a better job for under $25.

How is this a deal when you could buy the one without a heatsink for $344 a few weeks ago, and buy a 3rd party heatsink for $39, and you have a superior result for $381 ($57 cheaper)?

I, too, am miffed whenever I buy something for cheaper and then see an opportunity to pay more later on.

  • I'd rather pay the $15-20 difference and be safe with warranty. Because, can't WD say I've modified my standard SN850 if something were to happen?

  • Dropped to 397! I'm envious even though I got mine without heatsink for 360ish. That being said, there are some really good heatsinks better than WD's standard one. Such as this:

  • Seems to be down to $373.25.
