I believe that's for the HD version, not 4K

        Ok.

Amazon has it for $59 4K Max Version Use code "FTVUPGRADE"

        • +4

That's targeted to existing FireTV owners, hence the FTVUPGRADE.

        • Code didn't work initially, had to go to their chat & they will refunded $20 once it shipped. Time to say good bye to my slow @ss Lite version.

          Thx.

        • yeah i do have it. so seems its targeted to existing firetv owners

          • @clartan2015: Thank you for clarification. Some deals are always not thorough like Apple educational bundle.

Amazon and jb hifi have had these for $59 previously

  • This or google chromecast with tv?

This gets asked and answered every time this gets posted. Read back on past deals for people's opinions of pros and cons of each.

    • Same dilemma. Have a smart TV with Netflix and YouTube button so not too worried about UI. Just want the best device to cast Foxtel Go….

      • Best way to "cast" Foxtel Go is to not cast it at all. Grab Kodi, load up the correct repository for Foxtel Go and you're set. Kodi works seemelessly on all Fire Stick versions (including the current $24 Lite) and also on Google CCTV.

    • I have the firestick lite and ccgtv. Google tv to me has a nicer interface and easier to use, I tried sideloading a launcher with the firestick, didn't work well so I just gave up.

Prefer firestick remote physically, cc one is more "slippery", kodi works well on both, was quite surprised that it was pretty much same on the lite fstick since one was so much cheaper.

Not much diff to me tbh, but if you have a Google based home then stick with Google. I like being able to turn on the TV in the living room before leaving my room
