  • Is this going to be a series?

    • If woolies keeps delivering the goods (pun intended), I'll do my best.

Is it really that hard for you to DIY this yourself?

It is the luxury of having a Chinese sweatshop worker put salt and pepper on your tofu, then wasting the resources and creating pollution of shipping it to Australia frozen that makes it worth it.

    • Agree, get a ~400g block of firm tofu for$3, dice up a third and bung in air fryer. I just paper towel it dry first, also good with nutrition yeast.

May still try these if they got for $2, wouldn't pay any more..

That's a bit different from salt and pepper tofu which is fried and battered in things not specifically nooch, and not usually firm.

        • Oh right.
No rules, just do either, not hard in the air fryer
I don't have Spray oil but salt and pepper either way is good

Yes the batter is complicated its not as simple as dip in flour and fry (source) thats what i did lol

I have followed many YouTube recipes and im just bad

          • @AlienC: Ah, i see, yeah I can't be bothered getting too fancy..

As someone who is really bad at cooking yes.. mate if i knew how to make proper restaurant salt and pepper tofu at home and not my hybrid monstrosity that i keep concoting i wouldn't be buying $17 salt and pepper tofu lol when i can make it for half the price at home.

To fu or not to fu?

    • +2

      I like To Fu.

      • F me no fu

  • These have changed recently. They used to puff up when cooked (in the air fryer), they now don't. I noticed the change about a month ago - it's like they are using a different tofu. Still OK but not as good as before.

The popcorn cauliflower is nice too https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/104774
Hard to come by though. $2 is a good price.

  • I wasn't a huge fan of the corn fritters, bland batter with corn inbetween. Not sure what I was expecting in hindsight

    • May as well get some crisps

  • Street Foodie Spring Rolls Cocktail 1kg also $2

  • All ticketed as still full price in the aisle for me. Might've still scanned at $2, but didn't bother trying as they didn't have any cauliflower, alas.

  • Restocked at my local, they weren't ticketed at $2 so heaps of stock, scanned at register fine.

  • pretty good for $2, not really worth it at $7.50.

Luckilly, they're usually marked at half price @ $3.75ea

    • I could never find them were they with the other crisps or health food section?

Don't know who the hell would pay full price, $2 ok but even then just have popcorn.

      • These are frozen food found in the freezer section.

        As mentioned in the OP:

        Found in the freezer aisle.

        • Cheers

  • just got a bunch and regret it, not even worth 10 cents
