    Goggle Annke and warranty issues.

    There is no warranty.

    • -8

Hi, there are warranty options when placing the order. Any issues, you could leave a comment here or contact [email protected], we will resolve issues as possible as we can.

        I think the are referring to comments like these which suggests your 'warranty' period is a blatant lie, it appears zeomega may have had first hand experience here but I am only guessing;

        https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/annke

I bought a 16 channel recorder from them with 3 year warranty.
It packed up after a year. I contacted them for warranty and am told that the warranty means that they will not replaced the item at no cost but will allow me to get another one at a discounted rate.
This is ridiculous. I have told ebay about it and there is nothing they can do.
Do not believe in the 3 year or any warranty claim from this company.
Annke is fooling us with their own interpretation of warranty.
        ……………………………………………………………………………………
I tried to make a warranty claim, based on their advertising of the product. Annke do not honor the warranty, in fact the warranty is only three months. So, I have a dead system 6 months old and Annke customer support say… so sorry the warranty is for technical support only.
        ……………………………………………………………………………………
on installation DVR would not work contacted ANNKE who said I would have to buy a new unit from them as it was older then 30 days, there web site says 12 months warranty. I indicated that it was a manufacture fault. would advise against buy any of there products.
        ……………………………………………………………………………………
Hi, I bought an 8 channel NVR unit on 25-4-18 (N48PI). But it has stopped working, with no video output from unit. Power light comes on only, all peripherals are fine. The 3 year warranty has turned out to be tech advice only.
        Annke's response
" We offer 3 year warranty and 30-day return.
We provide technical support within three years but cannot accept free returns if more than one month.
So sorry that the free replacement service is unavailable for your order now."
        Plainly this is illegal.
They had the hide to ask me to buy another unit as I was a good customer!
        …………………………………………………………………………………..
Annke also trades under the name of Sannce. They sell rubbish CCTV systems. It is true what others say about their warranty. I had the misfortune of buying one of their POE CCTV systems with NVR and cameras through Ebay. Mine failed well within warranty (just 9 months after I purchased it). Their support people troubleshooted the issue and acknowledged the unit was dead but refused to do anything. They had the gumption to even ask me to buy another whole system. Their tactics are to keep refusing and refusing until you are worn down and just give up. Neither ebay, paypal or my bank (VISA) were able to do anything about their refusal to replace or fix my unit. I lodged a complaint with Consumer Affairs who investigated and confirmed I was well within my rights to have the unit replaced or fixed but they were powerless to do anything. The company is based in Asia so they don't care about what happens after sales as they are not a legitimate Australian business so can not be held accountable. It's the reason why no quality professional security installer will sell their products. Buyer beware Do not buy Annke or Sannce products!
        …………………………………………………………………………………….
They promise 3 year warranty but even though they confirm faulty camera in less than 1 year they act dumb and say you cannot return after 60 days. I insist I just want replacement camera and they just give the runaround. I now have to spend thousands to remove old system and rewire in new one. Dishonest, lying overseas company****buy australian only next time***** I am reporting to ebay

And there is a sitewide 15% off code AK15OFF if the total amount is over $50.

Was going to remove my first sentence but can no longer edit it.

You can return the hard-disk drive, wires, and other standalone accessories to us for replacement or refund within 90 days. Beyond 90 days but within the 2-year limited warranty period, a full refund is not available.

That's not what Australian law says…
Rep might want to look at https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/consumer-rights-guarantees…

    • +2

it appears rep is not running an Australian business, is not selling Australian goods and has no obligation to provide Australian warranty, and appears this company really doesn't honour warranty at all anyway judging from the limited reviews on productreview

      • +3

They don't need to be running an Australian business or sell Australian goods. The law applies.

        https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/sales-delivery/buying-para…

"While you have the same consumer rights when you buy parallel imports as you do with any other goods, it may be more difficult to obtain a remedy if something goes wrong with a parallel import."

        • If they are not running an Australian business then I am fairly certain that the ACCC can do absolutely nothing to make them 'comply' with anything regarding warranties, and certainly can not impose fines or anything like that so even if the law still applies it is redundant with sellers like this as far as I know because they will say there is nothing they can do.

This is exactly what one of the reviewers said..

"…..I lodged a complaint with Consumer Affairs who investigated and confirmed I was well within my rights to have the unit replaced or fixed but they were powerless to do anything. The company is based in Asia….."

There is no online purchase warranty. Don't expect it to happen.
    don't be naive.

  • Thanks guys, I am looking for security cameras and Annke ( and Swann too) are off the list.. the thing I love the most about Ozbargain is reviews from members (and of course and deals too.. )..

This is a site engaging in dubious activity….can we ban them from advertising deals?

    • Whether they can continue to post is up to the community to decide using votes. It's not up to the moderators: we take a hands-off approach in regards to brands or stores that have bad customer service / issues with honoring warranty et cetera.

If the vote average for the store's rep posts over the last 90 days is less than or equal to 1 then a Performance Ban is triggered.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:store_representative#…

If you do not wish to see any more deals by Annke, click the "Hide" link under the deal then tick the checkboxes to filter them out

      • Just curious if the vote average includes posts in the competitions forum? It shouldn't, because they can only earn +ve votes, not -ve.

They are at -2 overall on their deal posts. They are at +2 if you include the competition thread. I suppose I was expecting a ban.

What actually happens in a ban? The old threads stay open or disappear? Will they automatically be allowed to post again in 90 days time?

        • Competitions don't count in the calculations

Voting on old deals don't count. There's no point going back to their older or expired deals to vote because the system already counted their votes already.

Please don't click the neg-vote button will-nilly and only do it if you have a valid reason, otherwise at a certain point your neg vote ability is disabled.

What actually happens in a ban? The old threads stay open or disappear?

Nothing happens to their old deals. They are simply suspended from posting new deals.

    • So, another 3 neg votes between the current thread or this one https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/689372 will trigger a performance ban.

So.. You might want to look at that other thread and vote.
