          • @Hits: and if I didn't provide the qantas number on sign up, can I link it now that I have got the card?

            • @Frozensage: Yup, you should be able to update it in your account. If not, just call ANZ and get them to add it.

  • In the other deal I think it said you could open an ANZ Progress Saver and then in the app you would see the card offer.

Anyone know if that's still the case as it's a good way to avoid any bank fees at all with no need to drop anything in.

    • +2

Did this via app and immediately saw the offer.

  • Wait, I have an ANZ Frequent Flyer Black right now which I was just about to cancle. I assume I am not eligible for this FF platinum card?

    • Yes, you need to wait 12 months after cancellation to sign up for the next Frequent Flyer card.

  • Does anyone know if rego counts towards the spend? Took a look at the T&Cs and it says the below. Assume rego would count as government charges?

"Points will not accrue in relation to interest charges, premiums paid for ANZ Credit Card Insurance (ANZ Credit Card Insurance not available for new customers from March 17th, 2018), government charges, bank fees, payments made to the Australian Taxation Office, card account adjustments resulting from disputed transactions or otherwise, balance transfers, cash advance (as defined in the ANZ Credit Cards Conditions of Use)."

    • If you really want to use government fees and rates to meet the minimum spend you could always just pay through sniip or beemit and eat the 1.5% fee. Or do it through postbillpay and paypal if that's available for your council or state. A lot of these entities charge a credit card fee nowadays anyway so 1.5% is not a huge deal imo.

Not surprisingly, ANZ cards department really sucks. Can't believe their systems are still so crap and they expect you to explain things to offshore staff who don't even understand basic concepts like overtime, salary sacrifice, reimbursed expenses etc.

  • How much is 160000 points worth?

  • Has anyone here who was not an existing ANZ customer managed to apply successfully for this offer through a generic link ala this one? Trying to avoid having to create a progress saver account but not if it turns out that going through a generic link renders it ineligible or doubling up on someone else's application.

    • +1

Haven't tried generic link but T&C clearly mentions 7. Offer available to new and approved applicants who apply for an ANZ Frequent Flyer Black credit card account. Offer only available to existing ANZ customers. Risky in my opinion.

  • Got declined. How embarrassing. As if I can't afford it when I've never paid a dollar of credit card interest.

    • Same occurred to me a few years back with CBA, had 6 digits in savings account, declined.

    • Might be worth calling up - their automated system is junk.

    • -2

Well then you ain't the customer they want. It is a credit card after all. Nothing in it for them, is there?

  • Hi all! I opened an anz plat and got approved. It's been 3 weeks, hit the minimum spend and I received 30k points which according to ANZ is different from the 110k points as they have not credited it to me.

Any clue where this pts might be coming from? On my Qantas statement it just says Credit card bonus for 30k qantas points.

    • Hey, same happen to me. I was hoping for an additional 20,000 Qantas points from Qantas' promotion on first time Qantas frequent flyer credit card holder. But I called and confirmed that 20k will come after 6-8 weeks.

So still the questions remains where did the 30k bonus Qantas points came from?

      • So weird. No clue where it's from lol

  • Just received statement for the first month, hit the minimum spend within the first week (bills) but haven't received the cashback nor the bonus points, only the $240+$55 fees.

    • i have hit the minimum spend and i have received the $200 cashback but no QFF points…..

      • Yeah the cashback showed up 3 days later, wish it was part of the first statement though cos wasn't planning on keeping the card and now you either gotta spend money to balance out the credit or arrange for cheque refund or something afterwards.

        • did you get any bonus QFF yet, i'm not fussed about cancelling at this moment but would like to make sure we get the 110k QFF as advertised for now

          • @smeng: From previous experience I found ANZ takes forever to credit the bonus Qantas points. Last time it took them 90 days from the minimum spend statement to credit me my bonus points.

I am hoping it is different this time around but I wouldn't be surprised.

            • @pandadude: this could be correct as i read on the other ANZ CC post that they give the points after the 3 month spend period is over

          • @smeng: Yeah only just received it in the second statement.
