    All mechanical drives fail eventually. The brand is irrelevant.
    Could be tomorrow, could be in 7 years - but failure is guaranteed. Plan around it.

  As mentioned almost a lucky dip.

  I bought 5 of these on another deals at least 18mths ago, averaged $330 each roughly.
  One order 2 units, 2nd order 3 units a few weeks later.
  First 2 are ironwolf, next one exos, have not opened the 2 others from that order as yet but going on model/serial will be exos

  Synology 1821+ (8 bay) with the 3 installed are all working fine.

  They would not work in early ds1512+ - unsupported at the time.

  Fitted 2 ironwolfs first, then the exos - the exos is louder and can hear working away above all other devices, lucky its in an office and not home usage.

  Got mine yesterday. Spent 19 hours to have a scan and all good. Opened two sides and saw Exos inside.
