I don't understand why this is so expensive, you can get good real wine for less…

    • +1

Agreed, and real wine includes a 29% tax.

      • Exactly, you'd expect it to be really good for the premium price.

    • It serves a different customer / need - and this is what the industry producers have chosen to price it into the industry at. There are many other cheaper variants of Non Alcoholic available wine, beer and spirits on the website. This is the premium, popular choice of many of our customers.

    • -1

Personally, I'd consider it more valuable than real wine. It would save your life if you were severely dehydrated. And it won't damage your liver or increase your risk of cancer if consumed regularly.

  • Bloody hell, $23.56/L for soda water. It's OzBargain mate 🤬

    • -2

In the OzBargain spirit, please do a Google search to validate this is the cheapest offering in the country. The product may not be for you - but don't dismiss it for all of those that love the product, and know this is an exceptional price.

      • +4

Can you explain why it's an exceptional price?

I'm keen to understand how this costs what it costs when there's no 29% tax on it like normal wine.

        • -2

Being the cheapest in the country, by a decent amount, for a popular product purchase, makes it an exceptional price. Comparative to the option to access the product through any other store - this is an exceptional price.

If you're questioning the raw costs vs the supplier price; we're a retailer - so we don't control the supplier pricing, or know the production costs.

The repeat customer volume on this product, indicated that the RRP fits the market quite well - as the re-purchase for this Non-Alc wine is stronger than any other Non-Alc wines. It may not be the product for you (I'm assuming these are not products you chose to purchase and consume regularly) - however the people that do value the product appear to be satisfied with the balance of expense for value with this product.

Those that have ordered with us, using the discount we've provided substantially below RRP with free delivery; I assume they're even happier!

I note you have negged the deal - which is disappointing. Your lack of acceptance/understanding of a popular selling product, shouldn't reflect toward the market value presented in a deal. I assume you don't neg every $80 set of lingerie on sale, just because you can acquire the cotton for cheaper. It could be a reasonable idea to consider some people may opt to take a day or two off of drinking alcohol, and this product may suit their needs - even if it doesn't suit yours.

@Luxedrinks: See how my comments are getting + and yours aren't? I don't think it's me with a lack of acceptance / understanding, and your arrogance and smug is abundant in the tone of your post.

You haven't even answered the question. There are hundreds of cheaper alternatives. You have no idea what I buy, so don't be so cunning to think that you do :)

But, you do you man. Sounds like the owner of this company is the same dude that bottled NYC water and people paid for it.

            • @31mop: Thanks for your reply. Apologies if my message comes across as having any smugness or arrogance. It is definitely not my intention.

I thought I was providing a detailed answer to your question - however maybe I've misunderstood.
I'm sorry, I don't know how else to respond to why it is an exceptional price.

I thought I was providing good value to OzBargain, by campaigning the boss for an unmatched price, on a hugely popular product and posting it. I'm realizing that I missed it.

Again, apologies if my defensiveness sounded arrogant or smug. I was (ineffectively) trying to communicate my understanding.
