What if I'm on holidays in the mountains?

    • The cave in the mountains?

    Just a heads up
The downside to most (not sure if this is included) full face snorkels is you cant equalise your pressure through your nose. Makes it difficult to dive down, fine if you stay on the surface

    • Yep you can't go under surface.. for me it was a plus… Adds to the bouyancy.

  • +3

You cant dive down at all with these. Just 1m below the surface and the seals leak like a sieve.

    Used my once.. Total dissapointment.

The old mask and snorkel is still the best.

    • Could it be that …The seals leaking might have been a sizing or hair issue? I never got leaks because as you go down the water pressure pushes the mask further tight on the face .

      • Could be sizing related.

But when I got back I read the instructions, and they said 'not suitable for submersing more than 0.5m'. Its 4 years old, so maybe improvements since.

Good to know yours didnt leak. How deep did you go roughly? Im comfortable getting down approx 45ft (15m). But I couldnt even get down 6ft without it filling up.

        • How do you equalise in this? I don't think you can easily pinch your nose if you have a full mask like this.

Plus, I never put the snorkel in my mouth once I'm down below because I don't want any oxygen to escape. With this mask, it's difficult to stop the leak.

I'm also comfortable going down to a depth of 15m but I usually just wait for the fishes or look for shellfish at around 10m depth. As soon as I get to 3m+, I have to equalise and every 2 m by either pinching my nose or swallowing, depending on the pressure buildup. I just can't see going down more than 3 m wearing this mask as it will create more hassles.

        • Haha you seem much more advanced.
I only stayed at the surface maybe occasionally going 1 ft or so deep.. never went 6feet deep

I still don’t understand what problem these solved over normal mask and snorkel.

    • +1

For some face shapes normal goggles/masks don't effectively seal. Unless you have problems with normal snorkelling gear you probably wouldn't bother.

      • Is it also about the increase view¿
        Not sure just curious.

it's actually pretty good, with normal masks and snorkel, for a beginner and someone who's not a good swimmer, u feel like u are choking and struggling to breathe

with this mask, it's like u can just breath normal, u don't have a mouth piece

I tried this in Hawaii in 2019 in shadow waters and usually I can't snorkel much, not a swimmer, with this I was able to snorkel easily

    • It helped fix Lots of problems for me… For example

You can talk to people nearby. Especially great with kids.

      Can Breathe normally.

Don't have to worry about not opening your mouth.

      Bigger visibility window

    • Gag reflex issues.

      • yes but this is a snorkel…….
