eww def not a good deal.. cos it's pretty much the 2nd worst RTX3070Ti model after the Colorful RTX3070Ti.. and GPU prices are still dropping. (yay)

Gigabyte RTX3070Ti Gaming OC for $999 from BPCTech was much better deal.. (only $30 more for reputable brand and 4 years warranty, Gaming OC isn't the top model Gigabyte card but still much better than the base model Colorful/Galax and you also get additional 1 year warranty if you register the card online).

Shopping Express also had Gigabyte RTX3070Ti Gaming OC for bit under $999(~$970 iirc not long ago) but with eBay Plus.
Hopefully we can get something like Gigabyte RTX3080 Gaming OC for ~$1199 on OzBargain in the near future.

Colorful built quality is much better than Gigabyte in general. Gigabyte makes worst GPUs, simply rubbish.

      • Yep, as owner of both, I can vouch for this comment. Colorful is simply on another level in terms of build quality and the quality of electrical components.

On what planet is Gigabyte a reputable brand? Colorful makes way better products that Gigashyte.

Judge by brand and not product? Is the gigabyte GP-P850GM PSU good by default as well? Gigabyte does have good products but gaming oc 3080 is probably not as good as you assume, hardware unboxed did a video on it and it is clearly one of the hotter ones. Thermal is not good man.

    • Gigabyte is Taiwan, colorful is china, I support Taiwan all the way

    • You would never put gigabyte above colorful for brand reliability.

Also, even with a longer warranty, if you've ever had to actually deal with the repairs department, gigabyte is full of script readers; and colorful is actually PC enthusiasts.

Lets not talk about the 2012 RMA rate on gigabyte pcb's…..

Any simple resources or tables that rank manufacturers?

        • A good simple resource is your local PC shop. They'll handle more cards than anyone you personally know, and you can ask about doa/repair rates.

My opinion is formed, because Ive been building custom PCs for 15years and have seen a LOT of products; and nothing gigabyte has ever been of quality, with the exception of their new line of Monitors.

And Colorful has been flawless in my experience, since 2000, when they were making the VOODOO line of cards.

AsRock have been similarly impressive; even when young, to this day the only company to successfully mix DDR and RDRAM on the same board.

    • No thanks, I'd pick Galax over Gigabyte for GPUs any day. Gigabyte really destroyed whatever reputation they had left with their quality and design of their RTX 3000 GPUs. Also, Galax makes the best RTX 3090 out there with their HOF model.

  • Seems better deal than the current ripoff prices of RTX 3060/3060ti

For those interested in how these compare to other GPUs and recent bargains posted, these performance numbers are from the latest Hardware Unboxed 12 game average benchmarks for 2022 (https://youtu.be/oBDFtJ4lR2c?t=463). It doesn't take into consideration Ray Tracing, DLSS, etc though. I am aware 3k res isn't a thing, but I averaged the 1440p and 4k resolution performance stats. I personally run a 1440p ultrawide, so 3k is about right for me.

3070/Ti seems better value than 3060/Ti, why? is it becoz of mining?

    • In terms of value it's 3060 Ti —> 3070 Ti —> 3070 —> 3060.

3060 Ti uses the defective 3070/3070 Ti dies, and there's no reason to make a 3070 when Nvidia can stick the same die in a 3070 Ti. The 3060 has too much VRAM to be a good value product. The 3060 Ti and 3070 have the same hashrate.

Thx for the explanation, sure this place is horrible, again just by asking a question got negged?

        • That was my fault sorry, I misclicked the minus without realising, there was a heap of lag, then it finally registered and I couldn't change it. I'll balance it out with a +1 =p

      • +1

3060 Ti and 3070 have the same hashrate but 3070 uses a lot less power. 3070 efficiency is above 400 which is the highest amongst LHR cards.

        • How is the 3070 more efficient? Don't they both use around 120 watts?

          • @iseeyou1312: No. 3060Ti needs more at least 145W for the same hash

            • @Seraph2052: Not for ETH it doesn't. Are you sure you're not confusing it with dual mining settings, like ETH + TON or ALPH?

      • This comparison depends on the price, at this price point 3070Ti is a better buy

        • No, at this price point it loses out to the recent 3060 Ti deals. Refer to the above chart.

          • @iseeyou1312: Show me some $704 3060Tis right now! But I can buy this model right away for $969

            • +1

@Seraph2052: I'm sure others can search better than me, but the cheapest 3060ti I can find right now in stock is at Scorptec for $759 (Gigabyte Eagle), which puts it at $9.43 per frame.

3070 Ti runs hot with GDDR6X ram, 3 fans cooler is a must.

    • Bravo

    • Two fans is sufficient as long as the cooler makes full contact with the VRM. The triple-fan ASUS cards don't lol.

      • which ASUS? tuf?

        • TUF at least, not sure about the other ones. It seems they recycled cooler designs but the larger, separate heatsink was too big to properly cover the memory.
