Good for anyone who missed recent similar priced deals. Seems like this price may become a standard deal price until runout.

I don’t have an OLED at home but they look gorgeous in the shops. One day I might be a proud owner.. not yet.

Specs are as described.

What are they even trying to say?

        • +1

I doubt it's even worth trying to figure out….

        • Can you please elaborate on what you are attempting to share?

          • @seamonkey: They're making a 'self lit' joke, implying it's producing energy.
Got a few up votes the first time and has progressively gotten worse after the 10th attempt.

  • Aren't all TV's self lit?

    • +6

      Nah most tvs use electricity

      • Lol

    • +5

With oled each pixel itself lit from its own led. Average around 6 million LED's in one tv.

Most cheaper TV's are edge lit by baclkights around the perimeter or have a array of LEDs bedind the panel. Less than 100 LEDs in those models.

      • Sooo that's why they're called OLED's then…..own led 💯

        • O means organic. But I still don’t understand where this self-lit came from. OLED has always been self-lit, that’s the whole point of this technology.

          • @Azro: Then that's probably where it came from lol

      • I'm sure you realise 3840x2160 is not 6mil….

        • +1

Actually 3840x2160 has over 8 million pixels.

          From LG's website

Unlike LED/LCD TV models which use backlights to illuminate groups of pixels, LG OLED TV has millions of Self-Lit pixels that turn on and off. This allows OLED TV to achieve perfect black and infinite contrast, with none of the light bleed or halo that can affect LED/LCD TV images. With OLED TV, your favourite entertainment can appear at its best.

@koalafied: Why are you replying to me when I was the one to suggest it is NOT 6mil pixels

            • +1

@somm: I replied to Wizard but the post dropped to the bottom of the thread, no biggie :)

            • +1

@somm: Probably because he thought by 'not' you meant 'less'. i.e. that you thought 6 million was a vast exaggeration. Which is fair enough. Ok, so it's 8 million and not 6. Why would anyone but a pedant bother to point this out?

    • No most require you to use a halogen torch from across the room to light

My 75" 2015 Sony suddenly looking old and terrible, wonder if it can fall off the wall today 🤔

    • Selling it may be a better option :)

      I sold my 2015 Sony 75 variants.

Feel <4.5 is the magic number territory

    • -1

Yeah it was 4750 for black friday, hoping to pick this or the a80j up for 4.5ish

      • Last week was a good week for that. Sony edu and Bing Bing

      Keep feeling…

  • Y'all got any more of those G1 77 deals?

  • +4

Great price. Had mine for a few months now. Once you go OLED you can't go back. Not ideal for rooms with lots of natural light, but in a dark room, perfect.

    • I guess once you go black…

    • QD-OLED will change that - much brighter than OLED

  • I was waiting for EFY deals, but I think there may not be many deals considering the supply chain issue.

    • Why ?? new models are already out and these are almost gone.. now's literally the time to buy TVs

      • I was at my local Harvey Norman and they advised that many tv models in my wish list were out of stock and the sales person didn't know when will they get them.

    • +2

THIS is likely the best deal you will find on the 77" with new models now out. They're getting rid of stock. You could try your luck in store and see if they'll knock any more off, but I reckon this is as good as it will get on an advertised offer.
