Then pay a license fee after 1 year

    • -2

You can still access the free version after one year expired

      • But then it's not really a giveaway as Hybroid said - is it?

        • +2

No, it's a giveaway of the SwifDoo PDF PRO annual subscription.

  • +3

Effectively a one-year trial then, not giveaway.

    • +2

Its a real giveaway of the SwifDoo PDF PRO annual subscription.

      • For one year… If it's time-limited then it's not a giveaway. It's a trial.

        • Thank you very much for your positive answer

Subscrption modeling for just PDF is riduculous, it's for the most part only conversion software. I have tried so many and seem to always end up back on my favourite (value wise) which is PDF-XChange Editor (also has free restricted version). Wonder how Swifdoo compares…….the name is nearly putting me off even testing it (joke) :-)

    • How restricted is the FREE Xchange Editor version yes very hard to find a good free all in one PDF software

      • Best check their site for "Free Inclusions" as there is a lot.
        PDF-XChange Free Features

It does most things I need day to day i.e. can Create PDF's, Edit Text, Annotate, Highlight and so on. Things like adding/extracting pages is not free. Value wise for the paid (not a subscription) version is decent enough @ US$56 for what it is.

SwifDoo is Chinese if that's a problem for some people-
"SwifDoo PDF incorporates features like OCR (Optical Character Recognition) that’s identifies the unsearchable content and extracts the text in image-only PDFs"

    • Most PDF software can do that. How well they do it is another matter especially with tables and into excel or Forms into word.

      • I included the sentence because how many pdf programs offer full OCR for free (even for a year)?
PDF programs that include OCR, or OCR capabilities as an add-on module, are normally the most expensive and would never give you free OCR.

  • Thank you Op. Installed and tested. So far it looks good.

  • You can have a try, and you may be lovely with SwifDoo PDF
Similar in features of almost of PDF software
As compared with other PDF Software, It only takes up 10 MB of disk space, which is really lightweight in System Resources and yet powerful in Practice. Its Interface is like Microsoft which makes it more familiar to its users.

7 days free to try without registration,
30 days free to access the PRO version once you registered,

There is a giveaway for accessing SwifDoo PDF PRO(one year free), hurry to join, and free to get it (one year+one month).

    • …..only takes up 10 MB of disk space is indeed small. That certainly is a Plus as many PDF apps are 800MB +

  • I reset my password to login and comment here. Thanks will give it a try, I see no sense going you over the trial vs freebie thing, its a free annual sub, will give it a whirl. Cheers.

    • Thanks for your support. Cheers.

      • Thankyou, opened up a massive proposal that normally lags in <Insert big name pdf editor> but in your app it glides and true to your post very low ram use on a win11 pc here.

Outlook did junk the signup and verification emails, but once I got them out, happy days.

        • It is Outlook's automatic prevention system from business email. If you manually move the first email to your inbox, you will always receive that business email from your inbox in the future.

          • @Skylly: Not necessarily Outlook sending to spam/junk folder. It could be ones cloud account where the email is hosted and it having its own Spam folder e.g. Gmail. One would have to set as safe sender via Gmail settings. All Outlook is doing is reading that spam folder if that makes sense.
Just noting as a gereral FYI. :-)
