Ollee 11.6 Inch Celeron N3350/4GB RAM/64GB eMMC Laptop $248 + Delivery ($0 in-Store/ C&C) @ Harvey Norman

26

This laptop is considered a bargain by many users, and is now back in stock.

Marked clearance $248 – not yet quite as cheap as at Christmas ($198) or Black Friday ($238), but there's a hi-res1920x1080 Full HD screen, and a bay underneath that can hold an M.2 SSD, which are both unusual at this price. Add a 512GB SATA SSD for say $80, and you have a surprisingly cheap, useful, lightweight, if not too fast, snowbook with more storage than laptops costing twice as much.

A very portable form factor inspired by the smallest Macbook Air. Two USB-A 3.0 ports, too.Streams bluray video happily.

I am not associated with Harvey Norman, just a happy buyer and user.

    Considered junk by many too.

Comments section for a previous deal of the same model was pretty rough

This cpu was ultra low end when first released - in 2016. Please don't waste your money on this - and encourage manufacturers to keep pumping out ewaste

  • by many users

Ah the alan jones ‘the masses are saying’ weasel words rubbish.

  • +1

Gerry has one of these to browse Pr0nhub in 480p

    • This streams 1080p web video just fine, thanks to hardware decode.

  • This is junk. Barely worth this price.

For this price please just buy a second hand/manufacturer refurbished machine. Don't contribute to even more brand new e-waste being produced.

4gb ram in 2022 running windows is laughable

"not too fast" is an understatement for that CPU

Low stock, but some refurb alternatives from a minute of searching

Second this, just grab a Dell i5, even a 4th generation would beat the crap out of it but you might find a 5th or 6th gen for $300

  • There’s so much to hate about this I don’t even know where to begin.
I’d probably say the CPU though… although that eMMC is vying for top spot too

inspired by the smallest Macbook Air

Can't believe the (very) used 11" MacBook Air 2015 I'm commenting with is still valued twice what this is.

Too expensive to be a paperweight
Too cheap to be an actual useful laptop

    • I'm using an Ollee as a media player, streaming 1080p web video to a tv via HDMI. It replaced an old core2duo Toshiba Satellite from 2009, which had developed a tendency to overheat and reboot thanks to not having hardware video decode and CPU being maxed out.

The Ollee's fanless, diskless and LED blinkenlightless part-of-the-furniture invisibility adds to its stutterless playback experience.

When video formats change, I might need a replacement to get hardware decode. But that will take a few years.

You can pick up a second user 4th or 6th generation intel CPU laptop on ebay or in the used market for the same price give or take which will absolutely dominate this laptop in performance and value, having the potential option to add to the non removable 64GB eMMC storage with a m.2 SSD does not even remotely justify this "deal"
Windows 10 itself and a basic programs installed will already be borderline reaching the eMMC's storage capacity, please do not buy this or any laptop with eMMC storage, they are absolute trash and dogslow

    • You clone the eMMC partitions to the added 512GB SSD and leave the eMMC as a functioning fallback backup boot partition. As described here.

The secondhand alternatives may be faster, but 128GB SSD? twice the size and weight? Not everyone likes those tradeoffs.

  • The Ollee clearance has now sold out - so your next best bet for a cheap laptop with an empty M.2 slot is the Kogan Atlas L700. A slightly better Celeron processor with Windows 11 Pro, but a lower-res (not full HD!) 1366x768 screen and only one USB 3.0 port. And… it's bigger.

    "blitz… incredible 4GB RAM… powerful performance… flawless functionality… powerhouse… the perfect choice"

Why the Kogans ship with Windows Pro but only 4GB is beyond me.

Only $295 and free delivery on their trial loyalty program - cancel by 14 days
