I'm just waiting for the Keyboard cover. Samsung copying Apple pricing strategy is just ridiculous. How can the S8+ cover be ~$160 yet you add 2inchs to some plastic and it suddenly becomes ~$400.

Adding 5.5mm to that plastic can make it $1700. It's what you're adding that makes the difference.
I too think it's excessively expensive, but I think a big reason is because it's a very niche product. Samsung knows they're not going to be selling them in huge numbers compared to the smaller ones as the Tab S8 Ultra is really expensive, so they can't make them in large quantities. That means they can't achieve economies of scale, so the per-unit cost goes up. High-quality tooling and molding is very expensive.
Apple on the other hand can easily reach that point as they sell iPads in large numbers, but they still charge high prices anyway because their target market will blindly pay.
Modern day consumer are happy to be ripped off. It happens because the economy is prosperous.
Samsung simply think the keyboard provides substantial value add to their premium product and price it like that.
They keyboard should simply not cost $400+ it has no engineering gimmick like Apples levitating hinge and has no benefit likr extra battery or back lit. The
Keys themselves arent even great compared to Lenovo keyboard covers.
S8 Ultra makes up > 50% of Tab S8 sales at least in Telco-world

This case is really good quality, definitely recommended. It does offer good protection and it's 100% (not translucent). Also like that there's an actual holder for the pen at the back and not just relying on the magnet.
I read that the s7 can use the same case as the s8, can anyone here confirm?

If you just want the adjustable surface like stand, this is the best in the market.
The book cover, although really light, offers little protection and the angles provided are step. Look for a better one. Certainly not worth 90.
