    98% feedback? That's a worry

    • +1

Don't know why you got negged. It's a legitimate concern. 98% means they're pissing off at least 2% of customers…that's 1 in 50…but is likely to be more since not all disgruntled clients will go to the effort of leaving a negative (or may miss the chance). I generally try to avoid sellers with under 99% (though I check the reviews, particularly with small sellers).

That said, I routinely make an exception for the likes of Bing Lee, TGG, Sony eBay store, SuperCheap etc. These stores can have quite abysmal feedback, but I know that they're otherwise reputable retailers, and not likely to try and defraud me. If they screw up and I have to return something, it may be a pain in the arse, but I can probably get it sorted. On top of this, I can usually click and collect.

I think you'd be safe to deal with Bing Lee.

I find that anything less than 99.5 is a problem. Major stores can get negative feedback removed so 2% negative is probably more like 20% bad experiences

      • Yeah, wouldn’t worry about eBay feedback score for major retailers. You know they are legit and reputable, chances are you have purchased from their retail store before and you are happy with the experience.

You should probably add delivery somewhere in your post. $20 isn't nothing.

    • As posted, this price is for click and collect.
I have no idea what postage is to each state.

Even with $20 postage, works out to under $739. Which is cheapest I've seen anywhere.

I'm not saying this is a bad deal. I just think you should mention delivery a little bit more prominently as most people expect free postage for eBay Plus deals.

        • Good point, checked a few postcodes and seems $20 is standard.

  • cheapest you've seen, except for th deal already posted an hour earlier on OzB … https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/695390

      Last time I checked $719 < $749 ?

      • +1

FYI, $719 is unobtainable. Using coupon will disqualify/void cashback.

          cheers will update

and the dude negged me.. look at the revised pricing in title now LMAO.. seriously people on here .. all I did was link the earlier post of same product.. I dont give a fat rat's ahole what anyone pays.. just gave alternative for others to view

          • @buyB4Uthink: How is that a better deal? This is cheaper. Not everyone cares about store credit or the bonus gift which is inflated in value anyway

    • Zero deals contributed since joining yet quick to bash others for posting a deal. Self entitlement at its best

This is why I don't bother posting deals anymore because it seems like you have to get a nod of approval from a panel of idiots for posting a deal to help out others for zero benefit

  • my apologies if giftcard and cashback is NOT also on offer through TGG

    • The TGG deal is also click and collect orders only, and is for an in-store voucher not actual cashback.

  • Wanted to get it but doesn't post to Canberra

  • Bing Lee had Sh$%t customer service when parents microwave blew up a couple of months into it’s warranty. Flatly refused to replace and sent away for weeks to be fixed. Never again.

  • Great price but gonna wait for the BES870 for sub $600

    • +2

      Weren't they $560 last month?

      • yeah I just missed out on that and wasn't looking for one prior. Just waiting for the sale again

  • Got one, thanks! Been eyeing the express for 749 at JB HIFI, this was a no brainer.

  • +1

Are these more advanced but less reliable BES870. Was looking to buy one couple of months ago but had some reliability concerns

    • Not sure. I personally have the BES870, but I bought this one for my sister as it's a bit "easier" to use.
I guess with added electronics you can expect decreased reliability?

    • I wouldn't say more advanced - they're pretty much the same machine except one has analogue dials and the other has a digital one.

      Changes are:-
      Sleeker looking body
      Retractable power cable.
Instead of wheel on the side for the grind it has a knob.
Digital interface for grind time and cup size / temperature (hotter or cooler not actual temp i.e no PID)
Low water indicator for the water tank.
Better steam wand with 4 holes instead of the hard to clean one hole one (you can change it for a four hole one in the BES870)
hot water spout is in the middle and shoots directly into the cup instead of the side.
30 grind steps instead of 18 with the BES870 (you can be more precise with your grind setup)

In terms of pulling a shot they're pretty much the same machine but the latte art is easier with the better steam wand.

    • I have used both and the Barista Pro has a little more steam pressure and does steam the milk a little faster than the Barista Express.

One other point of difference is that the pump pressure is higher on the Barista Express (approx 14 bar vs 8-9 bar on the Barista Pro). The higher pressure can increase the possibility of channeling in the puck when pulling a shot so puck preparation is more important on the Barista Express to get consistent shots.

  • This Red Velvet looks less tacky in the photos, but does it feel less tacky than the standard red IRL?

The regular red feels plastic as.

  • I bought the delonghi la specialist for like 900plus a few days ago….. Should have check ozbargain.

    • Been thinking of that one too. How did you find the la specialist?

      • It's definitely better coming from a nescAfe virtuoso plus, but all the reviews are pointing towards this breville for easy functionality.

    • Which model did you get? (Assume Prestigio)

      Also don't forget your freebies

      • EC9335M, yup claim the mother day gift worth $400 retail which is probably worth like less than $100 😂
Doesn't say pristigio on the box…..

  • Is this a single or dual boiler? The nozzle on the steam wand looks very similar to the dual boiler Breville.

    • single, thermocoil design.

      • Thanks - thought the price was too good for it to have been a dual. Holding out for a deal on one of those instead.

  • I'd pick up BDB over this, cost of upgrade is too high
