This game will be free from 21/4 3am AEST.

For those having trouble claiming this: (procedure courtesy of Finarfin)

  1. Check you haven't already claimed a copy from this free deal.
  2. Log into a France or UK VPN.
  3. Check your VPN is working, you can do this by visiting https://whatismyipaddress.com and checking your public IP location.
  4. Before you go to GOG.com, delete GOG cookies in your browser.
  5. Then click Go to Deal and you should see Postal 2 when you scroll down a bit, and a button that says claim.
  6. Click the button then log in to your account.

        I know this example is for gog, but still if it's been on Steam for nearly 20 years(?) I don't think anyone is really bothered by this any more.

    This game probably has some of the best/funniest weapons in any FPS ever. Highly recommend giving this a go if you have a sick sense of humour/won’t take it too seriously.

    Excellent game. I'm guessing they are pushing it out free due to Postal 4 coming out soon, but Postal 4 is being rated as one of the worst games ever made so…

      Wow, I didn't even know there was going to be a number 4 as I'm pretty sure 3 was poorly received. I really should go try and do it, I enjoyed 2 and the expansion.

      2 was such an entertaining game, coz I had never played anything like it.

        2 was excellent. 3 was made by a completely different team and was pretty much just a multiplayer cash grab.

        4 is made by Running with Scissors who made 2, but it's apparently a buggy mess with no redeeming qualities. Gamespot gave it 1/10 and said that the only things good about it is that the voice acting is decent and it eventually ends.

    I have fond memories of Postal 2. Without a doubt one of the most artistically controversial games in existence and it’s a great experience to play through.

    Wonder if the Paradise Lost DLC will be free… Looks like I have the base game free somehow free but not the DLC even though it's been free in the past apparently. I can't seem to view the page with VPN either unless I use a private window and then login… Must be remembering some other settings.

    I can only get the game to show in my VM where AUD as currency isn't available at the bottom of the site. It shows up at 9.99 USD or 9.19 EUR.

      Location is stored in a cookie. You need to turn on VPN first, then open GOG website in incognito/private window and sign in.

    POSTAL 2 is showing £7.59 via UK

    OK the steps to do this is.
    1) Open private browser window go to https://www.gog.com/en/game/postal_2
    2) Click on "Go to giveaway"
    3) Scroll down to the middle of the page Postal 2 - "claim the game" then login
    4) After logging in sucessfully, click on claim again to add it into your account.

    For those having trouble claiming this:

    1) Log into a UK VPN (i use airvpn)
    2) ensure that your public ip point to server in UK, you can do this by visiting whatismyipaddress.com
    3) Before you go to gog.com. Find gog related cookies in your browser and delete it.
    4) Then go to gog.com and you should see Postal 2 when you scroll down a bit, and a button that says claim.
    5) Click the button then log in to your account.

    This is how i managed to claim it. I was previously signed into GOG prior to changing my exit node and the Postal 2 banner never showed up. It seems the cookie keep a track of geo-location. After clearing the cookie and refreshing the site. The postal 2 banner appeared along with the claim button.

      That worked. Using UK VPN and clearing out all GOG cookies before visiting site. Then logging back in to UK site before claiming.

    I installed Opera Browser and enabled the free VPN, then logged into GOG and claimed the free giveaway.
    After a minute or two I found it in my "owned games" in GOG GALAXY and downloaded from there
    You could probably download via the Opera browser but it would be slow thru the VPN. Maybe once owned you could turn off VPN?

    Worked using a different browser to usual and VPN set to UK.

    In case of confusion, clicking Go to Deal at Step 5 in OP instructions above takes you back to the home page for GOG. The giveaway deal/s are then a little down the page with no white edge on the underside of the game image where the price normally appears.

    Currently showing as 35 hours left.
