It's an 87w USB Type-C charger for ten bucks. Why not?

    Why not?

Because it's a generic model one with unknown potentially dodgy electronics. Not something you want to hook up your shiny new MacBook to.

You do if you want to sizzle it 😂🤣

    • -2

Or you can simply charge you macbook with a PD USB C Powerbank, and charge the USB C powerbank with this charger ?

      • +3

What, why? Just buy a normal Macbook charger.

        • You still might want a Powerbank Fast charger

Most of the powerbanks that are capable of charging laptops take ages to charge (because of higher Watt hour capacity). Charging them with 96W is probably not possible, they will have their own max Current and Voltage for charging (may be like 60W i think most usually)

    Generic brand. Not apple product.

$49.00 listed. how did you get $10?

    OOS

Yes, a cheap charger is a good way to ruin expensive electronics. Perhaps in extreme cases even start a fire. Very bad idea

  • $49 - AFTER20 = $29. How did you get to $10? Excellent price if true.

  • $49 - AFTER20 = $29, and this is a generic brand, not a authentic Apple Product nor a well-known brand either, I wouldn't trust it to charge any of my PD devices..

      Does this somehow help ??

Unfortunately, this item has been discontinued by the manufacturer. Please feel free to contact us for a recommendation on a similar product.

      • in the link you send, if you read the description, it says: Model Number: NBC-APTC96W Brand: Generic

        Not very promising either.

  • I dunno about the MacBook itself but the last generic Apple charger I bought lasted a few months. Definitely avoid.

    • +1

      Likewise. Never again.

  • Unknown branded charger that copies Apple's original design is always a recipe for disaster. Better get a charger from well known brand for a cheaper alternative

  • It's not a 'Generic MacBook Type C Charger 87W', it's a 'Generic Type C Charger 87W' that looks like a MacBook charger.
