  • Just got the call from an Indian call centre to confirm my temporary order number (ordered 23/4). During the call, they mentioned the tablet and the $12.50/mth payment. They also tried upsell a galaxy watch or apple watch and also a monthly call plan. Shortly after the call, I received an SMS regarding my order.

      Mine was Filipino……. made the same offer for the upsell Galaxy watch……

      Wonder what an Aussie call centre would say - "Oi, (profanity), wanna Samsung watch for the cost of a six pack added to you deal?"

      TBH couldn't careless if mine was a Martian, as long as they get the order right!!!

      Thanks for the negs. I specifically mentioned Indian call centre to be helpful as a lot of people like me would just hang up. However, I'm highlighting that this is a legitimate call from Optus to confirm my order. Given that there are so many orders, I didn't want people to ignore this call and miss out on their order. But yeah, so much for being helpful to the OzB community. No racist intentions at all.

  • Received an email on Sunday stating I needed to call them……. finally got a hold of them today…… verified a few details and processed my order.

    Delivery confirmation received for 1st order but not second yet.

    I ordered on the 24th at around 11am. Checked with chat and they said the tablet is out of stock, and they've now cancelled my order :( You win some, you lose some.

      Ordered about the same time as you and chattered with them this morning, was told they are still waiting for the stock from the warehouse, and once that's sorted it will be delivered within 3-5 working days. Not sure who to believe now.

        Mine ended with an "A" and here was the chat message:

        "Thank you for waiting XXX, I can see the order was processed on the 24th of April and we are currently waiting for the stocks in the warehouse, once we get the stocks then we will deliver the device to you right away.

        Usually the delivery time frame from the time the order was created is 3 to 5 business days.

        Don't worry, we are doing our best to deliver your order as soon as possible."

    Just called up regarding my orders being 'stuck' due to a debit card error. He said the tablets are OOS but still pushed through. The status for my 2 orders are now submitted and pending. He also acknowledged that this was a very good deal. Offered me 50% off all sim only phone apps and if I want also to add an Oppo A16s for $1.50/mth - but I declined

    I got given a temporary order number after completing the online purchase. I have been trying to contact them via chat all through the weekend and yesterday, but they have been absolutely useless. I'd send a message, then get one back 45 mins later saying "I'm just checking into your enquiry now and I'll be with you in a few minutes" - then they'd disappear and not respond.

    I finally got hold of someone this morning who was being helpful. Apparently when I submitted my order, they did not receive:

    1. My shipping address
    2. My employment details

    I have no idea how or why they didn't receive that information, because the system would not have even let me complete the order if those critical basic details were missing. The fields are required before anything can be submitted. It sounds like their system just crapped out.

    So no credit check had yet been done. I gave them permission to complete a credit check and proceed with the order. Apparently now they are saying that the device cost is higher than what my credit was approved for. WTF?
    They say the device cost is $250 and I was only approved for $120.

    The credit assessment team are no longer available by phone, so this person on chat has emailed them and promised to call me at 12:35pm AWST today with a follow up.

    Obviously this tablet is out of stock now, so I am going to be SUPER PISSED if they have just done a credit check and can't send me the tablet that I placed an order for.

    • I got a order number end with A after purchase but they cannot process& cancel my order.
      This happened completely without my consent and the reason I failed their credit check is my temporary visa expiring in next 6 months and bridging visa is not acceptable.
      so Yes they can done a credit check and give you nothing.

        My order number started with a T followed by digits, there was no A at the end. That really sucks how they declined it based on your visa status. My credit check hasn't been outright declined, they are just saying for some bizarre reason that I was only approved for a $120 device? It's strange and I don't fully understand it.

        Anyway it's likely that they are going to call me and tell me "Sorry, we have no stock left so we can't proceed with your order".
        I'm going to push for them to offer me something else highly discounted, or see what else they can offer me. I don't know what chances I've got, but I'll be extremely annoyed if they have done a credit check and don't offer me anything at all.

      • Actually I am wrong. There was an A on the end of my order number, they gave it to me a short time ago.

        I just received this email from them now, basically they're just saying 'stiff shit, order again'.

    Still can't access my optus account online or in app though (new service customer).

    Just a note for anyone that only tracked @$30 via cash rewards… You should now see $55 pending. If not raise a ticket, they're aware of the issue

  • Ordered on Sunday 24th like 12.42am and got an order confirmation email at 9.10am. I managed to activate my service as I am a current customer but has to be done via the activation team. Still no sms on device delivery just info if anyone who is a current customer and want to start using the data plan.

    Can people please stop using the terms delivering/deliver in progress/on its way/dispatched/w.e. unless you have an actual tracking number at hand for the delivery and NOT the order. There is so much misinformation being thrown around…

      To be fair, the SMS says "ready for delivery" and "will be delivered shortly", but totally understand how it could be confusing (and the e-mail says its "on the way")

  • I got a confirmation email with an order number ending with 'A'.
    Last night when I clicked Track your oder, it showed an order. This morning however it shows nothing.
    When I reached out to the chat, firstly they were unable to locate the order. After a while when they finally found it, chat said that my credit check is not complete even though I provided all the information when placing the order.
    Not sure if I want to go through with the order anymore - I don't really know if its bad to have a credit check on my file.
    Anyone else in a similar situation?

    • Did you try manually entering the tracking number in? when I click on the link in my SMS it comes up blank, but if I track using the original e-mail or just typing in the order, then it shows up.

      I don't have much faith in the chat support people (asked them about 5g home internet last time and they never tried to gather more information than what is simply shown on the website).

      Replying to myself.

      I used to have an Optus account a couple of years ago so I used the same to place a new order. When I didnt see my order (even though I had an order number ending with A), I reached out to the chat and was told that the order was cancelled as the system marked it as Fraudulant. I provided the correct details when placing the order, not sure if they would have done a credit check and if it will be a mark on my profile. It has been a very dissappointing experience for me.

    A family member and I both purchased within 3 hours of the deal being posted.

    Neither have received any form of delivery confirmation. Out status still shows 'submitted', service activation is 'pending' and delivery has now had a number allocated but no other information.

    I got onto the chat and they advised that the item was on it's way from the warehouse to be delivered. My family member did the same and was told that they were out of stock and that is why his order hadn't progressed.

    Not entirely sure what is happening but I think it's safe to say that people should not trust what the support staff say at all, they are clueless.

      UPDATE: My family member then spoke to someone else on the chat, who spoke to someone in the warehouse, who advised that it would be sent in 24-48 hours. Go figure.

        They all sound very competent. From this, we can assume that people will either receive or not receive their tablets.

      Ordered at 6:23pm and got a ready for delivery message at 10:35am

      • Ah it doesn't appear to be chronological in that case

    Only ever received a temporary order number, called up today to enquire about it and was told the tablet is now out of stock and I would not be receiving my order

    • Any update on this? My temporary order number is just been confirmed. Not sure if I will ever get the tablet though
