Not the highest performing air-cooler but a fairly solid contender and looks pretty nice. Cheaper at this price than many of the other options which outperform it.

Suitable for those with TDP 150w and below. This is really for people that value looks and performance. If you're after pure performance there may be other options e.g. Deepcool AK620, Darkrock Pro 4, NH-D15, Scythe Fuma 2. Newegg has a good price on the NH-D15 @ $119 delivered

Intel LGA (2066, 2011 v3, 2011, 1151, 1150, 1155, 1156, 1366)

AMD (AM4, AM3+, AM3, AM2+, AM2, FM2+, FM2, FM1) CPU sockets.

Is $89 + delivery @ PCCG for anyone who can collect in person this might suit you. Credit C-Nut.

  • No LGA 1700 on the list, can you buy a bracket to suit Intel 12th gen socket, or does it fit them but just the official list is too old?

EDIT: dual tower but single 120mm fan? Not surprised the performance is not great

On Coolermaster's page under specifications for this cooler says you'll need to purchase the LGA1700 accessory pack to use. Probably not worth it.

    • It might not be as bad as it sounds. I'm using a coolermaster h412r on my 12400f, which has just a single 92 mm fan on a single tower, and with only a single arctic p12 120mm case exhaust and 3 for intake. While idling at about 33% fan speeds my CPU temps are 33 celsius in south east queensland at the moment, which from what I've gathered is about 10 degrees lower than the idle temps others are reporting. I also have an nVME boot drive which runs hot, an ssd, and 3 spinning hdds.

    • Performance is good, just not on par with the highest tier of coolers e.g. NH-D15. But this also costs less and looks better than most.

I think this cooler makes up for lack of fans somewhat with extra heft, it weighs quite a lot.

The lack of LGA 1700 support is probably why these are going cheap

I believe it's $89 at PCCG (plus postage) in case anyone wants it from there.

  • How does it compare CM 212? What is this fan speed by the way. I cant see it in the spec. Thanks.

    • Fan speed is 650-2000rpm

You mean a Hyper 212? This is a substantially larger cooler than a CM hyper 212 which is much cheaper/smaller (but a great cooler). This would outperform the hyper 212 by quite a bit, due to the following reasons:

      -Dual fin stack (also large)
      -Six heat-pipe design
      -RGB

Upvote for RGB being a reason for improved performance.

I hate you, you had me at RGB.

Also, I just bought the Hyper 212 in white a couple days ago, to pair with the white NZXT N7 Z590, and then BudgetPC called today to tell me they did a whoopsie in the listing and the whites were sold out but they could fulfil the order in black. But the cooler was also shipped out hours earlier from Umart.. :(

Thinking to return it if possible and grab this if you really (srs) think it's better as your information has been pretty solid the last few times I've seen your posts. :D

        • You're too late Badju, I gave you a solid 25 minutes at 2:10am, CMON MAN.

I pulled the pin and grabbed one. Now to try and resell a new Hyper 212 LED in white for $45 hopefully. :D

Returning it will only get me the purchase price of $35..

Also, thank you for posting. <3

@[Deactivated]: Oh hey mate, the hyper 212 white dual fan is a bargain at 35. You could just keep that boy as a spare. What CPU arr you pairing it with? If you already have that cooler it is possible you don't need this one and you can just cancel the order. This is probably more of a high end flashy RGB option than a budget cooler. What you have is perfect for a budget build.

            • @Budju: That's true! It would have looked WICKED if I had received the N7 Z590 in White though for the Hyper 212.. :'( I wouldn't have consider this one otherwise.

But now going black, I thought this might go nicely to add a little bit of pop to an otherwise, "stealth" board.

I like your idea as a spare, although, I already have a number of older not-so-bad bits to offload.. 😅 Maybe I could put it with a second hand build, although the CPU's I have laying around are non-K so probably no point.. 😅

In terms of CPU, I really have no dang idea. I'm not looking to upgrade anytime soon and I only do light gaming, but expect to need to upgrade GPU again in a few years just to be able to run some AAA games at 1440p..? Wonder if I should try spend like $100 or $150 just to moreso future proof my CPU for this situation or just go for the best bang for buck CPU without any bottlenecking like a 10400 or even 11400?

Would really appreciate your advice, thank mate! <3

@[Deactivated]: Just get what's good now don't bother future proofing, cause in two years when you might need more cores the CPUs will be on another level. A good 6 core like the 10400, 11400 or 11600 will do.
