    There are two codes:
    PMAY15 - $390.15
    PMAY17 - $380.97 - eBay Plus Required

    • so for most people it will be 390 because who buys ebay plus lol.

      • +5

I do, saved more money on ebay deals then all the retailers combined. And at $9 per year you must be missing something here…

        • +3

I have saved way more on amazon prime per year and i get a streaming video service free pc games per month and free overnight delivery. O yeah and endless kindle books

          • @kungfuman: And music too…

          • +4

            @kungfuman: buy both… amazon prime>ebay plus

but with a couple of ebay plus deals u're already getting plus for free…

            • +1

@spoonmugen: I use prime for more general orders to restock the kitchen/bathroom etc.. More often I find better electronics/tech deals on ebay, also access to wider range of products and retailers.

Both have their +/- so its worth to have both.

        • +1

          I'm missing something… How's it $9 a year?

          • +3

@scud70: Sign up, wait a few months, tell them your going to cancel, they offer a voucher to stay.. it varies but in general for the past few years it's worked out $9 a year.. also if you jump on most of the alcohol or tech deals your usually on the savings side imo.

            • @Francis87: Hmmm yeh sounds like a slight gamble they'll offer it and a hassle lol. Most of the voucher crap never applied to me because i did the 30day trial… But all good thanks for the info

      • Agreed with you - "who buys ebay plus lol", and I saved more on Amazon Prime as well. But since they gave it to me for free, I didn't refuse lol.

  • Bugger! Just bought the 970 for $300 last week!

    • +1

Yeah, I bought the 970 evo pro for $280 two months ago, would have happily paid extra $40 for this. Good deal.

      • +1

Absolutely. Although it did remind me to claim my Steam vouchers so happy about that :)

        • +1

I got Rainbow Six Extraction from my promo πŸ˜”
          Swap ya? 🀣

          • +1

            @Steakz: Yeah that's rough 🀣

And no, sorry. Have a few items in the Steam wishlist that need clearing out :)

    heatsink option?

    • Seems to be the variant without a heatsink, but one can be purchased and applied separately.

  • Bought this in February expecting prices to rise. What happened to chippageddon??? Fake news!

    • +1

sounds like you misread or listened to some of the wrong people. In feb the forecasts were for Chip production to gradually return to normal this year.

    • Well, chippageddon is partially caused by crypto hype. With what's happening to crypto, the miners are not buying new toys.

Noticing the GPU price drop recently?

      • Samsung doesn't use WDC/Kioxia/Toshiba NAND chips.

  • +1

be careful with the cash back. the serial number on the box and drive have a 1 digit difference. if you do what i did you wont be able to claim cashback

    • +3

That's known, you have to open the box (break the seal) and take a photo of the actual SSD, not the box.

      • Yep otherwise would be a lot of scamming on the cashback.

      • They also accept a screenshot of Samsung Magician showing the drive in the system. I'm not sure how long do they take to issue the Steam wallet as my claim is sitting as "Validation Completed" since 14th.

        • Problem was I put it into a clients system so wasnt able to get the SN at that point

      • Even when I took a photo of the ssd SN barcode it does not work.

There is a chance that you won't get the code even if you open it.

Futu are a gigantic set of kvnts with their price jacking BS for the 2tb 980pro with heatsink. Last time there was 17% off the pre-discount price was $499, dropped to $459 once the promotion was over and they've now bumped it up to $529.

This is perfect for my new Nintendo switch from Gamesmen bargain. What a day to be an ozbargainer. Thanks bought 2.

    • +3

      Uhhhh what now?

You are either a mad scientist or mad confused.

      This is NVMe.

    • +1

      Haha love the meta reference

  • +1

doh. ordered one yesterday for $420 from shopping express πŸ™ˆ

    • +1

Yep…I ordered one in late Feb for $438. :(

      • +1

mine was the heatsink version though.. for use with ps5

  • this compared to 970 for Legion 5 pro

    • +2

Depends what you use it for.

A 970 Evo Plus is $100+ cheaper and there is no difference in gaming compared to a 980 Pro. Really, for gaming there is barely a difference between a 530MB/s SATA and a 3,500MB/s NVMe SSD, yet alone PCIe Gen 3 vs 4.

      • Until GPU's can directly access storage.

        • +1

By the time that happens PCIe Gen5 SSDs that reach 14,000MB/s would probably be a thing

          • @brosk1s: shhhhhhhh its "just around the corner"!!!

    • +1

If the 970 is much cheaper just go with that. I have a 980pro (pcie gen 4), Crucial P1 (pcie gen 3) & 870 Evo (Sata) and honestly can't tell the difference when launching any applications off them.

      • I have a pretty huge database of files I need to regularly search which I just put on a new nVME 980pro 1tb, but have no idea how much performance difference there would actually be to other options with how many factors are involved, but am hoping I made the right call for that kind of use case at least. I was also generating a lot of large files to then process for work, but realized that it would use up the drive's endurance rating before long, so just downloaded software for a ram drive which was probably always the smarter option for temp files.

  • any expiration date for the steam wallet?

    • For claiming from Samsung or once in Steam? I don't think Steam has an expiry, or at least I can't see one from looking at my wallet. It's just added to your generic wallet balance the same as buying it I think, or selling trading cards or whatever.

      • yeah after adding in steam… cool think I pounce on this :)

  • is this an all time low?

  • Don't rely on being able to redeem the steam code.

I have cracked the box and sent the serial number and barcode however it does not validate.

The Samsung promo team does not seem to reply to emails so you don't have much recourse.

    • +1

Just keep following up Samsung. I used to have a different issue with redemption and they did get back to me after a while to fix it.

      • It's good to know it can get fixed.

        I'll keep pestering them.

  • This for PS5?

    • 980 works with ps5 just need a heatsink

  • is there a limit to how many claims you can make? already made one claim, thinking of buying another…
