Is it pluggable to AC too?

      No, battery only

  • Thank OP, just purchased! Been looking for a good night light
The ESR ones were crap and battery guzzlers

Now we need an eneloop deal.

    • +1

      No, we don't.

  • Thanks grabbed one!

Already have one at home, they are very light on battery usage and are just bright enough so you can see but don't burn your eyes at night.

  • Just missed out, sold out now :(

These used to sell for $2 at sca

  • Ouch missed it, been wanting one that stays on for longer than 30s so this is fantastic.

Is there any other similar ones that can be set to turn on up to 60s?

  • +4

Damn missed out. Have two of these integrated with Home Assistant and they're dirt cheap for what they do. Night light, PIR and Lux sensor all in one using cheap AA batteries with long life.

This one is, I have one from Aliexpress

      • +1

its not, i know because at the time, kogan had different ads up, one for $15 delievered, and $20 delievered, the 20 was what i assumed was the bluetooth.

I just checked my purchase, reclick to the add, its the one above, it doens't have bluetooth.

Kogan refunded me, plus they let me keep it.

  • Could not connect it to the Xiaomi app. Bought two, would not work with both.

    • I have two and no drama's at all connecting using Xiaomi Home app.

    • Me neither. Nothing on the box mentions bluetooth or the Mi Home app. Spewing. Was counting on using them with the app.

What exactly are you planning on controlling?

The app is just a method for applying preferred settings. A set and forget .
        - Duration for light to remain on.
        - Sensor sensitivity i.e. whether it show wait for dark, low light, and so on.
        ' Brightness of light (High/Low).

        • Unscrewing the light everytime I want to change brightness, especially when light is placed in location where I need a ladder to reach it, is a pain

          • @design2last: it is contolled via App but to connect each time one does have to unscrew the cover and flick the switch inside the unit. Not good for you. Having said that, these are more a set and forget light. I find 50% brightness is a decent compromise and not a massive difference compared to 100% but certainly brigher than lowest position. For $14.99, is a decent buy and am sure you will find a use down the line.

          • @design2last: Wouldn't recommend putting these where you need a ladder to access. Remember they are battery powered so you will need to change batteries roughly every month or so.

Another option which is rechargeable too!

Tempted to take a gamble to see if it works with Home Assistant. Rechargeable battery is a huge bonus

  • Will the magnet hold in the light if it's upside down?

    • Yes.

My elderly parents house has badly laid out switches and these have been great.

When they turn off lights with distant switches these help them leave the room as well as get around at night for a drink or to the loo.

They are smart home resistant but these are easy to place for focused motion lighting.

    • +1

Yep same. I just need to remember to recharge the batteries for them!

      • My frustration is they shift them around instead of saying yes to a couple extra. Like, they will put one in the spare room when a grandkid visits and then be in the dark themselves.

        • Just buy a couple of extras in that case and populate all areas :-) Oh and very thoughtful of you to do this for them to begin with.
