About this item
Powerplay Charging Technology Through innovative application of electromagnetic resonance technology, the Powerplay base creates an energy field above its surface. Powerplay allows charging while a mouse is in motion and delivers power without interfering with the precise measurement and data transmission of a high-performance gaming mouse. Integrating the technology into a 2mm thin form factor was no simple task. Enter: Logitech G
Powercore Module The Powerplay energy field is transformed into charging current by the powercore module, which attaches magnetically to compatible wireless gaming mice. The beauty of powerplay is that your mouse will charge while you’re at play and at rest. We’ve made it that simple. It just stays charged. So, group up fearlessly, grind ranks, raid to your heart’s content. Repeat. Ad infinitum
Lightspeed Wireless Built-In Logitech G invented Lightspeed wireless technology to deliver the ultimate in high-performance wireless gaming. Lightspeed wireless technology is as fast or faster than many leading competitor’s wired gaming mice. So you get the freedom of wireless with no compromises
Cloth and Hard Gaming Mouse Pad Included Tune your performance to your mouse pad of choice. We include both our cloth and hard surfaces so you can customize and swap interchangeably. Powerplay will suit your style right out of the box

Crap. I just bought it for $135 last week :(

    • Same!!!

    • +22

That’s a whole WEEK of POWERPLAY for only $20! That’s just $2.86 per day, or 12 cents per hour! You got a real bargain!

      Now… back to the game!

    • Me too. Just about to put in a price protection claim :)

    • +1

if it makes you feel any better, I got it for about $160 about 6 months ago which was a deal back then >.<

    • Same, tried to ask for partial refund via amazon live chat, customer service from amazon surprisingly disappointing
Ended up ordering again and putting in a return for the old one.

      • I did the same and got the same advise.

      • did your return attract shipping back fees? I recently returned something from amazon and the amount i got back was minus the shipping cost

    Good Find, Great Price

  • +1

Is this the cheapest ever in OzB history??
Great find, bought it for my G502 and GPX.

  • +2

Had mine since 2017, so about 5 years. Hasn't missed a beat. Spilled plenty of drinks on it lol. Highly recommend, only negative is mouse pad size for low DPI gamers.

    • Same here, I'm glad the top mat is replaceable. Playing CSGO at 900eDPI and don't find it to be an issue.

  • +6

Isn't this a bit over engineered?

If it could wirelessly charge phones and BT buds then that'd make plenty of sense, but how often are people having to replace the batteries in their mice?

I guess it makes sense if the added weight is an issue when it comes to getting noscopes

    • The original G703 only lasts a couple of days between charges. I have the new G703 now and it would probably last 5 days if I didn't have the charging mat.

I agree it would have been good if it could charge phones, etc though

    • +1

Not very often from my experience with the G903. It lasts 2-4 weeks depending on usage and the cable it comes with is excellent which charges the mouse in about 2-3 hours. I'd rather use my own XL mouse pad.

This came out like 5 yrs ago so it was always an early/prototype version. The obvious next step is to charge everything with it but I guess Logitech either abandoned it or didn't find that making sense financially.
Besides, the mouse still has to have internal battery though. It's definitely more of a luxury convenience.

    • Isn't this a bit over engineered?

I honestly can't understand why this is a thing, especially at this ridiculous price point. Maybe if it was $20 then it would make sense.

Charging a wireless mouse via a cable isn't a big burden.

      • Overpriced, yes. But solves the pain point of charging my wireless mouse too. Price drove by being a niche product without any real competition I guess. (I heard the Razer one has some issues)

  • I just have a USB dock which can charge the mouse overnight

    • +7

      Sleep… what a luxury…

  • +4

Very much worth it if you have the mouses, seriously!

    • +1

Just don’t put two slutty mouses on the same pad, or… just doesn’t bear thinking about

  • +2

    But…… $2 for a cable?

    • Well, if you were really wanting to save money, you would just use the included cable lol.

In all honesty, I also saw it as such a frivolous product at first - but I ended up loving it after using it. It's nice to literally forget about charging a device in a time where seemingly everything will need to be charged daily/weekly now.

      • Nah I can definitely see how this would be good. I know I hate it when I'm using my Model O wireless and it just goes flat in the middle of a session. Because who is actually looking at the mouse LED while playing to see the battery is low

  • +1

My g903 needs a charge like once every 3 weeks of heavy play. Solid

    • G502 Lightspeed here. Need every charge every 3-6 hours with intense gaming. But my warning alarms flare up when hit 40%.

      • get one of these, you wont regret it

      • Yea I'd look at buying for a mouse that needs charge after 3-6 hours
        That's an average session.

      • 40% ? is that why my mouse constantly complains at me, but never goes flat when it does hahaha

      • +1

I charge mine like once a week. I probably get 60-70 hours out of a charge (LED’s off).

    • How old is your G903 though? Now that I charge G903 every 2nd day with normal non-gaming use, I see this product more as a way to save me from having to replace the mouse entirely (or the battery).

    • Same with mine. The battery life is incredible.

  • It is not harmful to keep charging the battery?

    • +2

It only charges to around 82%.

    • AFAIK the pad only kicks in at a certain percentage level, and charges it up to almost full to preserve battery life.

I don't ever look at my charge level for my mouse anymore so I unfortunately don't have specifics, I just remember reading up on this when researching the product.

  • +2

Thought these were a massive waste of money until I bought one. Now I couldn't go without it. Wireless + never having to charge is amazing.

  • +1

Why can't they make a large mat that would also charge their keyboards at the same time?

    • also phone and smartwatch

  • The only issue I found with this (and stopped me using it) was RF noise. Somewhere along the line of SM7b -> GO-XLR the RF was being picked up and recorded.

    Charging etc works fine.

  • +3

would be good if the mx master was compatible

  • +1

I love mine — but wanted to also use a large deskpad so I had one smooth surface for my keyboard and mouse. So I bought some 2.5mm cork matting which is almost the same height as the charging part of the Powerplay pad and then put a 3mm deskpad across both the cork matt and Powerplay pad — so I've got one seamless surface that charges the mouse on the right hand side. Bit of doublesided tape keeps everything together on the table.

    • Thanks for the idea, I was gonna buy a second one of these as I've gotten used to larger mouse pads but I might do something similar as you haha

    • That sounds like a great idea I was thinking that this can’t support a large matt and was going to do without it

Where did you get the cork matting from?

      • I bought Cork Roll Sheet on eBay. I accidentally told a fib about the thickness I bought above. The ideal thickness is 2.5mm to match the Powerplay charging pad, but I couldn't find it so bought 2mm. I bought a 121cm x 61cm 2mm roll and cut it to to my ideal size. Just had a search and that exact dimension is sold out on eBay but I'm sure it could be found elsewhere.

  • Purchased. Now my g502 will have infinate power.

  • Grabbed one, thanks OP. been thinking about it, and this was cheap enough to justify wasting money on hahaha

    • JB Hi-Fi will price match it too if anyone is wondering, thats where i got mine from.

  • Price beat at OW, brings this down to $109.25

  • Is the struggle of replacing a battery once a year really that hard it requires a 100 dollar charging station?

    • +1

This is for the Logitech G mice that have built in rechargable batteries. So it's more about the hassle of having to plug your mouse in every 1-2 months to charge it. Which isn't that much of a hassle unless you forget to charge it during a full on gaming session.

    • My mouse (G Pro Wireless Gaming) only has a 60 hour battery life because it's so lightweight — so the convenience and clean desk setup made the cost of the charging mouse pad worth it for me.

  • those that haven't used it don't know how convenient it is. Once you have one it's impossible to go without one

  • No longer $115 :(
