  • Thanks OP - that Colombia Totoro from last time is delicious.

    • Glad to hear you enjoyed it :)

  • $56 for express posted fresh roasted beans, with a bundle of 4x 250g to mix and match sounds like a nice way to sample a few. Unfortunately have a bit of coffee to get through currently but will look to buy next deal hopefully

    • Sounds like a plan!

I think that's a bit of a reductive statement. A lot of the cheaper coffee deals posted on Ozbarg are bulk-roasted discounted green beans. Or cheaper dark roasts. There is nothing wrong with that, however this is a great way to sample (often more lighter SOs) higher end stuff from roasters with proven efforts to pay coffee farmers an ethical rate for import.

Glad to hear that you've found something you enjoy! Coffee comes in all different grades and styles so there's something for everyone :)

share your thoughts with the inflation police.

Mate you've been shilling the same coffee roaster across multiple coffee deals which don't line up with your desired $/kg range, you sure you're not affiliated? :P

my biggest gripe with this mob is their continual Friday dispatch — I suspect they're not volume senders so unlikely to hit the Austpost system until Monday, delivery at best the following Tuesday/Wednesday… if you're lucky. If I order by Wednesday, I want to enjoy my coffee for the weekend!

    • +7

Fair call on your first point. Our delivery schedule isn't for everyone. We'd rather meet expectations than spread ourselves too thin.

However, I do have to push back on your second point. We have an Australia Post van come every Friday around 4pm to pickup the parcels. Orders are almost always processed at the airport later in the evening.

Counterpoint - I live in the Melbourne delivery area and love that they hand deliver over the weekend without involving Auspost at all.

I have a PO Box, but this is one of the rare occasions where I give street address instead. Vitamin C needs to be delivered fresh and quick.

      • Glad to hear it :)

      • Same here. I’ve met Tim a couple of times at the door, great service.

        • Thanks :)

Forgive my ignorance, but how does this work?

Our focus is bringing you ethically sourced, fresh coffee at accessible prices. To do this, we dispatch in consolidated batches.

So are you coordinating with the suppliers to have them roast large batches, then you pick them up and ship out?

Do you get value packs (1kg) for filter coffee?

    • +1

Yep that's correct! We order in bulk and pick it up once a week.

We don't normally sell 1kg bags of filter (in fact a lot of roasters don't even pack filter in bags this big). However, if there's something specific you're after we might be able to organise a bulk price :)

      • Would love 1KG of the Seven Seeds F. Bomb Filter Blend if you can organise it for me :D

        • Can do! Are you able to pop through a PM or WhatsApp with your email?

  • Hi, looks like your bundle deals page might be broken?

    • +1

Thanks for flagging that! Should be fixed now :)

      • Perfect, thank you!

  • Can you recommend something ground for an AeroPress/Delta Coffee Press? I’ve had Airjo’s Sumatra Blend in the past and enjoyed that.

    • For sure! If you enjoyed the Sumatra you should enjoy:

      • Wood and Co Karma
      • Padre DG Blend
      • Wide Open Road Bathysphere
      • Proud Mary Humbler

      Hope that helps?

      Cheers,
      Tim

      • Thanks, I'm gonna try Proud Mary Humbler and Wife Open Road Bathysphere.

        • Sounds good :)

        • +1

How does she feel about that?

  • Hi, what can you recommend? I really enjoyed market lane “marimbus”

    • If you enjoyed that you should enjoy the Wood and Co Karma Blend :)

  • I'm overwhelmed by the amount of choice, and I am overdue for a re-supply of beans!

Should I just randomly mix and match some OP?

    • I can give you some suggestions :)

Do you have any favourite flavours/regions/roasters?

      Also, how do you brew?

      • I usually source beans from AIRJO, Lime Blue and Kai.

We brew lattes with a Breville Barista Express (if that's what you meant).

        • Gotcha! And yep that's what I meant by brew method :)

          I'd suggest:

          • Market Lane Marimbus
          • AXIL Seasonal
          • Pillar Wayward
          • Pillar Prime
      • I like ONA's Raspberry Candy (my fav) as well as their Maple. Any suggestions @directcoffee?

        • Proud Mary's Ghost Rider is a really tasty fruit bomb :)
