    I think it depends what they are used to playing. BGG gives it a complexity of 2.88 which is higher than most kids games. There are a lot of components and it can be a little bit overwhelming while learning, the actual game is fairly simple, especially if you are already familiar with worker placement games or deck building games.

          @docians: I usually avoid third party because they don't offer prime free shipping, in this case I'd be very wary here as they are newly listed with no feedback yet. Amazon customer service in my experience is great so I'd pay the few bucks more. In terms of counterfeits, Amazon can get co-mingled stock but lost ruins seems to be low risk (compared to Catan or Ticket to Ride), as it's newer.

  This game is similar style to Lords of Waterdeep. Personally I like this better but they are different enough to own both. I’m keen to try the expansion but have way too many games still sealed.

  Really good game for that price, component quality is fantastic, I play it a few times a week (mostly online) but it's great in person as well.

  Mixture of worker placement and deck building. personally I usually play with 2 players but it's better with 3 (haven't managed to convince 4 people yet).

  The expansion is also really good, adds a tiny bit of asymmetry but is incredibly balanced. It's especially nice to have the extra cards/monsters/locations as it makes things less repetitive
