Good deal, comes with international calls too.

  • Optus network put me off.

I went from Vodafone to Boost and now Amaysim, i've lasted 5 months on Amaysim but switching back to Boost even though i've got 7 months left on my SIM.
Has been the absolutely worst coverage of any provider i've used, somehow even worse than Optus direct.

Getting low 1-2 bars signal and worst of all dropping back to 3G connectivity constantly, even in VIC CBD and metro areas. Should be no excuse to still get 3G coverage in these areas.

    • Yeah don't know wtf has happened to the Optus network. Calls for me on amaysim on my Poco X3 Pro always get dropped out. A lot of times the sound would turn into gibberish noise before it gets cut off. The other times it just cuts off.

I thought it was the X3 Pro since it recently got an Android 12 update. But it turns out exactly the same thing happens on an iPhone 12 Mini on Catch Connect ffs.

    • Sorry if a stupid q, but are you seeing the 3G when you’re not on a voice call?
I notice this too that whenever I do a voice call, it drops to 3G.

      From their website it says:

“Yes! All amaysim mobile and data-only plans are powered by the Optus 4G Plus Network.

Currently the Optus 4G Plus network is a data-only network. The 3G network is still used to make and receive calls so you’ll drop back to 3G signal whenever you make calls.”

Because it seems weird Optus reception would be bad in the cbd.

I’m currently on Amaysim after having really bad Telstra reception in my area, but my 6 months is almost up, so switching to Telstra on the $1 promotion , but i wouldn’t hesitate going back to Amaysim after.

  • Boost still is on the same boat.. Worst experience very poor 4g,hardly 1 or 2 bars most of the time.. Internet is worst.. all these resellers are busters.

  • I've been with Amaysim for almost three years now, no issues with coverage in Sydney. Paying $30 for 55GB. Unlimited International calls, unlimited data banking. I don't see myself getting better value than this. The only thing that I would like to have is the ability to get an esim for a smartwatch that uses the same phone plan I have.

    • Same here. 30pm

    • esim for smartwatch is very high on my wish list.
Would be a solid reason for why I go back to the big 3 if there’s no eta

      • Any other provider that lets you share your plan with the watch ?

        • Not that I know of. There were some rumours that it was in the works last time for some of the resellers. But haven’t seen anything since.

        • Only the providers who own their own network e.g. Telstra, Optus, TPG
