Been waiting for a sale on these classics to play OpenRCT2. Certainly not the cheapest of all time, but it has been a long time between drinks for a deal.

"Keeper ******** can't reach the ungulate poop"

I still remember that I used to create an open end ride and set the speed to max just to see the people fly off the rail

      damn, you're off the rails.

  • Do these still run alright on W10/W11 systems?

Hoping I don't have to work too hard for a nostalgia hit!

BF2 just recently stopped working when I went to W11, I was so disappointed.

Have a look at OpenRCT2. It uses all the assets from the original games, but is re-implemented for compatibility with modern systems.

      • Thanks!

I'll be happy as long as my OP rollercoaster designs still work :D.

(Using Steel/Looping Coaster, set up a powered launch station, two vertical loops and a steep section high enough to prevent the coaster from falling off the end of the track. Load as many cars onto a single train as possible. You'll have a coaster which earns big bucks as very high excitement values for a 30 second ride + high ticket prices = high turnover!)

    • I found running Windows XP in a VM works well.

One of the best series of games ever produced.
    Transport Tycoon was also legendary.
Remasters of these wld be awesome.

Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 was way better. Especially with the addons. It was 3D and you could ride the rides and see the rest of the park from the view point of a guest. You could add fireworks timed to music, pools and slides, animal enclosures etc. I'd describe the graphcis as Minecraft level but still pretty good considering it's age.

Geeky me built my wife a park with Fireworks and laser show that said "Happy Birthday". Then you could watch from the overview of the park or jump on a rollercoaster to see it.

This was 14 years ago now. I feel old!
