I am with Smart Choice super fund, generally it was performing very well. but nowadays the returns are in negative.

What I wanted to find out from this community is if there is way to find performance of a super fund in last 1 month / 3 months etc…?

Have you checked your super recently?

Thank you!

The whole market is down expect for whatever rekt invests in because he makes a 50% return on everything.

    • +15

Just you watch, our boy rekt is going to make $1,000,000 from crypto by the end of 2022.

Why, we're but 5 months in and he's already only $5,000,000 away from his goal!

      • +15

        I started 2022 with $10,000,000.

I'm now at $5,000,000 and should be $1,000,000 by Christmas.

          Pamp and damp! 💰💰💰

        • Is this in "american" pesos?

        • @rektrading u gone balls deep in Z1P too….. stay away from asxbets

          • @Trying2SaveABuck: The only stonks I touch is #TSLA.

It's the only ticker in the $SPX that moves like a coin.

    • +2

Only 50%? Must've been an off day for him.

nowadays the returns are in negative.

Wow, that's really a suprise, I wonder what could be causing this? Truly a mystery.

  • Is everyone enjoying the 💉🛀?

    😂

    • You going to make a crypto based super fund?

Pension funds are a scam to pamp retiree's bags.

    • +4

what's that emoji mean? covid jab?

  • +1

Some say change it to conservative when close to retirement however you will draw at most 4 percent a year. So you most likely will ride out this downturn.

    • +1

Most people will take out significantly more than 4% p.a. in the early years of retirement.

    • I have 5 years worth of living expenses without touching capital for bear market
so in the good times I eat dividend and rent and keep the 5 years buffer

in bad time where business could make a lot less profit or people cant pay me rent I don't need that income for 5 years

You need to look at which investment product, not just the fund itself.

Also take a look at the share market in Australia and in US to understand why your return is negative.

    • -4

The pension funds are damping because it's a Ponzi scheme.

Stonks crash = pension funds crash.

      • +2

The crypto spruiker calling superannuation and stock market as “ponzi schemes” … lol

  • Linked on my commbank but I rarely checks.

  • +2

Damn, I thought that 24% return last year was normal.

    • Wait for -24.0% 2022/23.

  • Depends what the investment product/strategy is.

  • +1

here's my graph - no growth in 2022 basically which is disappointing

  • 1 month -0.23%
    3 month -0.29%
    6 month 0.02%
    FYTD 5.42%

all the information you want is on website of your Super fund. Usually there is a "performance" tab.

Mine is going poorly but so is the whole sharemarket. My portfolio is down 9% from the highs a month back. You just ride it out.

  • Unbiased ATO comparison tool, I’d suggest using this as a starter.

It won’t have 1/3/6 month performance though as that’s too short of a timeframe. Most comparisons elsewhere will look at 5/7/10 years

In rekt's tone of voice, MySuper product is a Ponzi scheme. Higher fees than other products so that the investment strategy is adjusted according to your age.

Getting killed but this isn't a problem as it means getting units cheaper than before. It will bounce back in a few years.

    • Don't worry.

2022 will be a small blip on the chart in 40Y.

      • +2

I suspect half of us won’t be worrying in 40 years time.

        • I won't be surprised if the feds raise the retirement age to between 70Y to 75Y by that time.

          • +1

@rektrading: Yes, expensive cohort those damn retirees, let’s slash their numbers and get them paying taxes for a few more years. I’d be surprised if retirees’ super earnings don’t start copping hefty taxes well before then too.

          • +1

@rektrading: For sure, and in societies eyes if you die at age >70 (currently from 'vid) then you were old and ready to die anyway.

I feel many will never touch their super, and even if they do, wont get much benefit from it.

  • +1

You should look at super returns over the long term (say 5-10 years), not the last few months. It will have its ups and downs, with a down trend for a few months being not uncommon. Remember, it’s tax-advantaged long-term savings. What matters is the amount of income it can eventually provide you with in your retirement

  • don't stress

feb 2020 - mar 2020 lost 130k, by November it went back up 200k, now down again by 30k since xmas

  • My super is at an all time high. My very simple method of managing it, as I have said before is to always have 50% in property and the rest in shares as long as the VIX is stable under 20. So I’ve been 100% property since November. For those that panic at times like this remember that over time markets always rise so if you don’t like it don’t look.

    • Is that property funds that you use?

I’m with HOSTPLUS. There are various options to choose. When you open your account they put you in the standard conservative option I seem to recall.

        • The default investment option in Hostplus had an allocation of 93% into growth assets according to APRA Heatmap.
Low risk but high returns is what marketers want you to believe.

  • 34k in super and its fluctuated from +$800 to -$3100 since January.

  • I think I've lost about $5000 to $8000 this year, but then again, I put most of my super into indexed Aus/US shares, so that's why I've had some pretty wild swings.

I'm so 😆 I cashed out before the 🚂 rekt.

2Y of free 🚁 💵 gone in a few months with more cliff diving to come.

    • So you dumped your super, probably using the covid cashout option rather than any clever market insight, but did you also cashout your crypto at last year's peak, or still letting it burn?

      • I cashed out the pension and went 99.99% in digital assets. The $SPX 2X and #Bitcoin 7X.

I have more buy orders on #Bitcoin sub $18,000 for the next 🐂 run.
