Differences between these and the older R1280DB (Non S) is Sub Woofer Out, updated Bluetooth support and a newer remote control.

Honestly they perform better than the S350DBs which have a dedicated sub, great value for money and nothing else i've heard gets close for the sub $150 mark.

I got a pair of the non-S version going in the kitchen and very pleased with it for the price.

  • I prefer the r1700bt, or the R2750, both from edifier. R1700bt can be had for about the same price. R2750 is a bit a dearer and are no longer bookshelf speakers but are enjoyable to listen to.

I really don't understand why people tout the 1280 over the 1700's though. There seems to be a slight cult of personality over them. I'll never knock any edifier product in Australia though - besides their miniature satellite speakers every product they make sounds great

  • Would these R1855DB be better:

    Same price pretty much.

  • Edifier R1280DB Studio Bookshelf Bluetooth Speakers

Bought for daughter's b'day. We sat for 2 hours trading songs via BT. Wow! Amazing sound for the money! I paid $109, shipped.

    +1 for Edifier!

  • I am looking to get a pair of Edifier for my digital piano as cheaper substitute to something like JBL LSR series. Anyone has similar setup and which model would you recommend?

  • I have the last version non-s hooked up to my tv for the last 2 years, great speakers but recently I randomly lost the ability to control the volume through my tvs Bluetooth (having worked fine for 1.5 years). Might be time to get a soundbar and retire these to my PC

  • Is the promo over :(((
