  Does anyone know where you can get a simple digital clock (no radio) that runs on batteries with a large display like this and doesn't turn itself off?

  I've been trying to find something for my father who is in hospital. I thought I found something, but the display switches itself off after 5 seconds on batteries. I've since found that this is really common with these cheap Chinese clocks. Almost everything I've found online does the same thing without power.

  Is there something where the time stays on continuously with just batteries and has a large display that's easy to read?

    Not much help but Kmart has a $7.50 clock that does that. However the clock is very dim running in battery mode, I wouldn't recommend it.

    Maybe a USB powered clock running of a power bank? Might get a few weeks life between charges, they can't use much. Next best option would be an old school LCD clock, they run for years on batteries (Betus Digital Travel Alarm Clock on Amazon as an example)
