  • amazing deal

  • Wow legend. Nice find. Ordered two.

  • Thanks OP, grabbed a couple.

  • This or go the MSI for same price?

    MSIhttps://www.umart.com.au/product/msi-850w-mpg-a850gf-80-gold-power-supply-mpg-a850gf-57423

    • this

      • +1

        out of curiosity, why?
This has a 5yr warranty and the msi has 10yr.
I've been looking at the msi myself, but if there is a reason this one is better it would be good to know.

      Enermax

      MSI is single rail

      this is Multi rail

If u plan to use a 4080 or such and the rumour of 500watt GPU is true,or even a 3080 this 100 percent

A 3080 can and does have transient spikes of about 120ms or less of going from 300 or so watts to over 590-600 plus in microseconds and back down this can trigger protections in a single rail system,in fact it was a huge problem with EVGA power supplys they just kept turning off with 3080s and 3080ti

Enermax is actually a huge player, just they sort of left the power supply game..but they are using channel well, the same factor line that makes this Power suppply..makes the Corsair Rm850 line so they are quiet good

      • Enermax and MSI are both using the exact same CWT platform. The only difference is the sticker on the box, casing design, and warranty length. Therefore both are the exact same multi-rail unit.

  • I have Asus "X99-E-10G WS" Motherboard.
    Planning to build a pc

is this PSU is good to run 2 3060Ti?

    Thank you

    • and why are you running 2 3060's?

      • planning to play game with 1st 3060 and Mining with second one

        • Should be fine with 850W then.

        • +5

          Lol mining with a 3060

Have u actually seen the profitability on this

it will take 470 days currently to even break even on a 3060

even ppl with a 3080 are starting to pull back from mining

    • Not sure if you already know this but Intel's X99 chipset is from 2014 and long out of support today - it won't run any CPU new enough to support Windows 11 etc.
You'll need a more modern Motherboard if you want to build a contemporary system.

  • No 0% fan mode (so it'll die a lot quicker) and I'd be very worried about any PSU with only a 5 year warranty, but I think it's possibly a low warranty period because of the fan issue.

    • At this price point nothing does Zero percent nothing good anyway

      it's also a bit of a gimmick

Idle psu mainly for ppl drawing less than 165 watts..with any modern post 5000/i5 12600 cpu this isn't gonna happen

it's a TBD fan, those are rated for around 45,000 hours usually,it's from CWT so will be stress tested

unless ur Pc is on 24/7 45k hours is over 8 years of continuous use

The most common killer of PSU in australia is actually our shit voltage regulation, most indoor electricals in australia are done to Bare minimum standards so there will be plenty of spikes..

  • Hi i am currently running a 750w with 3080 32 gigs and an i7 1200 will that be enough for me or should i upgrade to 850 w ?
