                • @Russ: Have you invented a better mouse trap?

@uzz30: Perhaps a worse mouse trap, I've never caught a mouse this way. I have found little garden lizards that got trapped in conduit, apparently they can't walk backwards.

I ran dual CAT6 cables to every room in my house when I built some 18 odd years ago… admittedly most have never been used but figured better they are there and plan was to use baluns if needed for something else. Wireless has gotten better since then though, so even less need for them.

I can vouch for this being solid core copper. I purchased some a few years ago for my CCTV install. I was aware of CCA at the time so verified with the seller that this is solid copper. The same seller had (and still has) a cheaper CAT6 version which was CCA. They did/do not specify it in the listing so had to ask specifically and they were honest in their response.

To this day however I'm still sceptical whether it is legitimate AEG product as I didn't think AEG produced network cable. Nonetheless the quality was excellent and I have had no issues operationally with the cable.

    • If you are looking for decent 4 pairs Cat cable, go to Middys or L&H ask for CommScope/NetConnect cable. Price is not cheap though.

      • paid $150ish for a box of commscope at awm not too long ago

  • Thanks OP!

No yellow on sale tag up (still says $219), but scans at $65 ($61.75) powerpass at the checkout

  • Scoresby had some last week too

  • Would this cables suitable for building a cross over bridge?

    • Do you mean making an ethernet crossover cable?

If that's what you mean, it's just an ethernet cable with one connector wired differently. Any ethernet cable is suitable for this, the wiring chart is here, use the two columns under "TIA/EIA 568-A": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethernet_crossover_cable#Fully…

Thanks OP, managed to snag 2 boxes at $7.50 each!

    • More detail required!

      • Windsor Gardens SA, had it for $7.50 with Powerpass. Other stores around are still 65, or 61 with PP. There was another that had it for 50 but was low stock. It was just pure luck I had checked the app and that they still had it. Most of the time I see something super cheap like this, its usually already gone.

        • Receipt mate?

        • I thought twice about the $50 one at Kent Town and then it was gone when I went back for it! Is there any stock left in SA?

  • Scored a $65 roll down in Tassie, :D
