Phanteks Eclipse P400A Tempered Glass Mid-Tower E-ATX Case - Black $79 + $7.99 Delivery ($0 SYD C&C) @ Mwave

90

Discounted from $109. Mesh case and seems to be mentioned alongside the Corsair 4000D Airflow which is another well reviewed case around this price point. Looks like a decent alternative and a little cheaper ($20) than the most recent Corsair 4000D Airflow deal. Comes with 2*120mm fans. Requires additional HDD brackets if you want more than 2 SSDs/2 HDDs.

Other Phantek cases:

RGB version is currently $99 and comes with 3*120mm RGB fans + RGB controller.

  • Fair warning for those who want to run a 360mm AIO in the front of the P400A. This will make the HDD cage not longer fit without some mods.

Warning this case is really good and you will enjoy it.

I have this case, noctua D15 fits, without the 140mm fan installed, so air coolers up to 160mm tall are ok.

The PSU shroud is riveted in and cannot be removed. There are only 2 x 3.5" drive bays.

I managed to fit 2x120mm and 1x140mm fans as front intake, by taping them in with double sided tape (the case officially supports 3x 120mm only).

The 3rd front intake fan would funnel air into the PSU shroud space and not contribute to air flow.

Build quality is ok, but too many compromises to make the case unnecessarily smaller. The fan controller is poor quality connectors are really cheap, and I failed to get it working. Apart from that the build quality is good (better than cooler Master standard)

Overall I do not recommend due to the riveted psu shroud. If you are using an AIO airflow may not be a concern to you

The Lian Li o11 Air mini fits more and is better built, but wider.

    • The o11 mini is more expensive and doesnt perform as well. The airflow testing undertaken on this case by GN showed it has high airflow and very good cooling results.

To be honest, this case looks a bit awful.

    • It was rated case of the year by gamers nexus in 2020 who is one of the most respected bench mark creators for computer cases. What cases do you like?
