bought 2k, already added to account, thanks op

  • 4 vouchers recevied and redeemed!

  • I added 6 x $500 and applied coupon and it says $300 off?

Haven’t clicked to pay yet but isn’t there a 4 max limit?

Or will they cancel the whole lot afterwards?

    • +1

If it goes through I personally doubt they’ll cancel it. It’s all automated.

  • +1

Bought and redeemed 3x$500 gift cards thanks!

  • I bought one $500 card, and then went to buy another since it says up to $2000… but it said code already used (so I guess it does enforce it)!

    • +1

      just use a different email

      • +1

I was gonna say this. Just use different emails and buy as many as you want (before stocks run out or site is ozbargained).

      • +1

I didn't realise how many things are linked to my main email… ended up using guest checkout so I could remove the fullstops from the email address (vs. Google Pay/Apple Pay/PayPal/etc)

        • I placed a second order (for 4 * $500) for which I used

          • My wife's CC
          • Same address
          • Used the same email address as my earlier order but with a dot removed (Usually, that's counted as a different email address though ultimately bound to the same one). Mistakenly mentioned my name in the "For" field

Haven't received anything (even invoice) for that one. Wondering if that would be canceled? :-(

  • Does anyone know if cashback works with paying with apple account balance?
Planning to buy new mbp when it comes out, and want to get the price as low as I can :)

    • Yes I have done it before and also did salary sacrifice np. (Education store).
Regarding cashback it depends, usually there is a cap (usually $100). Depends on what Cashrewards/ShopBack offer at the time.
Also remember that in November there is usually gift cards when buying (depending on products) and in January free AirPods (usually for macs and iPads purchases).

    • Yes just checked on CASHREWARDS website. It’s accepted. Waiting for click frenzy deals. Hopefully it goes to 8% like last time

      • Thanks.
I am waiting for mbp m2 (if it's the correct name for it). Only stocking discounted GCs at the moment.

        • Me too! Mind you I’m happy to buy current m1 for cheaper. I have already m1 and it’s a great MacBook. For
My needs the MacBook m1 is just fine, but I need to get one for my kid in her last senior School year and uni.

This is going to make it even cheaper to pay that Australia Tax Office bill to avoid criminal proceedings that a tax office official called me out of the blue to inform me of!

    • for the love of god, please stop this joke now.

  • Please allow up to 24 hours to receive your digital gift card.

How long does it usually take?

    • It was instant for me

      • +1

        Still unreceived..

        • +2

I haven’t received mine either. It’s been an hour now

          • @kay007: I haven't got mine either, checked out and received confirmation at 10:48am :(

            • @Muffinman01: They probably went out of stock by then i guess. Just have to wait 24 hours

              • @kay007: Some people received their card just after the payment. My order was confirmed at 11:09 am and I'm still waiting for it now.
                Hope it won't be cancelled.

                • @Imposter: Which payment method did you use?

                  • @kay007: I used Shop and I think that's the reason. They need to wait for Shop to clear the payment I guess..

                    • +1

@Imposter: I used PayPal but others’ got their code instantly with PayPal but I didn’t. I hope it won’t get cancelled since the payment went through

  • Got 4*450

  • +1

If I buy GCs this year but buy the product next FY year (July onwards), would claiming tax rebate be an issue?

    • +1

Should all work off the purchase invoice date of the actual product, so there's no issue.

  • +2

how long will it take to get the giftcard? I purchased 2 hours ago and still no email

    • Same here!

      • are you also using paypal?

        • Nope, Apple Pay on the website.

    • I bought two and they were instant. Check junk/spam email from TCN.

      • +3

Only got an email says Order *** confirmed. Nothing else, no spam email

    • less than 5 mins here

    • I paid with paypal and barely waited a couple of minutes.

    • I bought 4x and I go the TCN invoice and gift cards within 1-2 mins.

    • They just canceled my order…shit

  • Too easy $500 done.

  • Just wonder how long the cards will be received via email after payment? I only received the email from TCN with invoice. Thanks in advance.

    • sorry guys, I just found that the email with gift card sent to my junk email box.

  • Can i use multiple gift cards to buy an iphone on apple store? i never bought anything from apple store

    • -2

Up to 5 gift cards can be applied in One transaction. You can buy $500 gift card. Maximum can be $2500 in total

      • +2

It's up to 8? Where did you get 5 from?

        • Sorry, the apple is up to 8? I can't recall exactly. Maybe the 5 is for the Catch instead of Apple, but there is a limitation for gift cards on one transaction for sure.

bought iPad during EDU promotion few months ago

            • +1

@b3au: Once you load the money onto your apple account it’s all pulled together. I think the limit applies if you add the cards at checkout?

              • +1

                @fozzie: Few things to unpack here;
Once an Apple Gift Card has been redeemed and added to your Apple Account Balance, you can only use it online - not in store anymore.
There's a maximum Apple Account Balance of $4999.

                You can still combine multiple Apple Gift Cards and your Apple Account Balance (and credit cards) online for transactions though;

Apple Gift Card(s) – up to eight
Apple Gift Card(s) – up to eight + one credit card
Apple Gift Card(s) – up to eight + Apple Account Balance
Apple Gift Card(s) – up to eight + Apple Account Balance + one credit card
Apple Account Balance + one credit card

So you can combine a $4999 Apple Account Balance with 8 Apple Gift Cards - which would usually be 8x $500 = $4000. Add Apple Account Balance, and you have $8999 you can spend online.

A earlier OzBargain comment mentioned Apple Store staff can actually combine gift cards, up to a maximum of $3000/card.

So you could have $24000 across 8 gift cards to spend in store.
If paying online, add that $24000 + $4999 Apple Account Balance = $28999 as the maximum you can redeem / spend online with Apple.

                • @b3au: Thanks for your comment it’s very informative! Good to know about the in store, I thought you could buy in store even if loaded (but I was wrong). I usually buy online anyway as I also like to get cashback.

@fozzie: The foundations for adding your 'Apple Account Balance' to Apple Wallet (and being able to pay with Apple Pay) are in iOS 15.5, but didn't go live when it was released to the public.

So at some stage in the future, it looks like you'll be able to have your Apple Account Balance available to spend at Apple Stores via Apple Pay.
                    https://twitter.com/SteveMoser/status/1511421782674321417

But as of today, no - you can only use unredeemed Apple Gift Cards at a physical Apple Store.

                  • @fozzie: Looks like the 'Apple Account Card' is live, or at least rolling out in the US for those on iOS 15.5 or later – https://9to5mac.com/2022/05/25/new-apple-account-card-now-av…

If you've stocked up on a bunch of discounted Apple Gift Cards and redeemed them into your Apple Account Balance, you should be able to add the Apple Account Card to wallet and then use Apple Pay in an Apple Store (rather than being limited to online purchases)

Can't see it on my end yet (the screenshot seems to show you open Wallet, tap add in the top right, and then the option would appear), or it'll be limited to the US only….

  • They accept Apple Pay. So good for those who have Citi Premiere card with $600 cash back on $2k Apple Pay spends. You can easily meet the requirement now buy these gift cards. I paid for 3x$500 with Apple Pay.

    • +1

Called them up but they couldn't price match iPhone 13 unfortunately. Their excuse was that it was the latest model.

    • +3

You can buy products with 10% off, you can also use it to pay for subscriptions like Netflix, Disney+ etc.

    • On Android; it's the equivalent of getting 10% off anything from the Google Store (eg Pixel, Nest, Accessories), Google Play Store (Movies, Apps, TV Shows), and subscriptions (eg Binge/YouTube Premium/Google One).

(or flip it the other way around if you live in the Samsung ecosystem); it's the equivalent of 10% off anything at Samsung.com, the Galaxy Store or other Samsung services)

On Windows; it's the equivalent of getting 10% off anything at Microsoft.com - 10% off Surface, Xbox, other PCs, accessories, or 10% off purchases in the Microsoft Store app (apps, TV shows, movies, etc) or subscriptions within apps.

  • For those of you who missed it, Apple education provides ~9% discount for certain Apple products (e.g. MacBooks, iPads).

  • Hmm, it’s showing Out of Stock when I get to the checkout now :(

  • shittt just got out of uni and sold out :(((
